Vernon W. Walters; of
Carson St.; Pricedale; died
Wednesday;August 16;1978; at 11:15 a.m. in
Allegheny General Hospital;
Pittsburgh. He was 65.
Born March 7; 1913 in
Charleston; West Va.; he was
the son of the late Marion E.
and Lula A. Williams Walters.
He has been a Pricedale
resident for the past 48 years.
Mr. Walters was a retired
conductor for the Monessen
Southwestern Railroad;
retiring in 1975. He was a
veteran of World War II;
having served in the U.S.
Army.
He was predeceased by his
wife; Susan Madeline Rabatin
Walters; on April 11;1976; and
two brothers; Earl and
Patrick Walters.
Mr. Walters is survived by
two sons; Vernon E. Walters of
West Newton and George A.
Walters of Belle Vernon; two
daughters; Mrs. Harry
(Loretta) Malone Jr.; of
Monessen; and Mrs. Charles
(Joan) Schaum of
Monongahela; three brothers;
Clarence and Albert Walters;
both of Brownsville; and Roy
Walters of Pricedale; one
sister; Mrs. Pearl Gilmore of
Belle Vernon; and nine
grandchildren. Visitations will be held in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home;626 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home;with the pastor of the Mars Mill Baptist Church officiating. Monessen on Feb. 2; 1913; a
son of the late Frederick and
Juilaina Hofer Weibl.
He had retired from the
Page Division of the American
Chain and Cable Co. plant in
Monessen seven years ago. He
was a member of St. Leonard
Catholic Church in Monessen.

Thomas Weightman of 307 Johnson Ave.;Belle Vernon (Pricedale);died suddenly Friday;April 21;1978;at 4:38 p.m.in Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital. He was 82. Mr.Weightman was born Nov.14;1895 in Jefferson Twp.;a son of the late Thomas and Flora Lewis Weightman. He had been a resident of the Pricedale community for the past 50 years. A miner by trade;Mr.Weightman had been employed by the Sommers Mine in Pricedale and he retired from the Sager Mine in 1957 as a coal loader. Mr.Weightman was a veteran of World War I;having served in the U.S.Army Calvary and was a member of the Veterans of World War I of U.S.A.;Charleroi Barracks 350. Pearl Owens Waggett of Gastonville died Wednesday;April 19;1978 in Monongahela Division of Mon Valley Hospital. She was 82. Born Feb.10;1896 in Alverton;Pa.;she was a daughter of the late David and Minnie Endeman Kennedy. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy of New Eagle. Mrs.Waggett is survived by one son;Thomas Owens of Gastonville;with whom she made her home;two daughters;Ruth Anchondo of Ford City and Thelma Masten of Coal Center;three sisters;Henrietta Sharrer of Belle Vernon;Josephine Buccolo of Jersey City;N.J.;Flossie Molinatto of Hammond;Ind.;five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren;several step-children. She was preceded in death by her husband;Albert Waggett;in 1964. She was born Feb.14;1903;in Oakmont;a daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary Favo. She was a lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon community and a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church;Belle Vernon. She was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas;Belle Vernon Court 1522. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law;Donald R.and Saundra Vizza of Miami;Fla.;one daughter-in-law;Lois Zanardelli Vizza of Belle Vernon;two brothers;Nicholas Favo and Joseph Favo;both of Oakmont;seven grandchildren;and eight great-grandchildren.
