William M. Ducky Venneri Sr.;77;of 702 Grant St.;Belle Vernon;died on Monday;Dec.30;1991;at 7:30 a.m.in his home. He was born on Dec.20;1914;in Belle Vernon;a son of the late Charles and Jennie Spadafore Venneri. Mr.Venneri was Catholic by faith and was a lifelong resident of Belle Vernon. He was a former employee in the Electrical Department at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation;Allenport plant;where he retired from in 1977. Mr.Venneri was the former mayor of Belle Vernon for 22 1/2 years;and a former councilman in Belle Vernon. He was past commander and deputy commander of the Belle Vernon American Legion. He was a member and past president of the Belle Vernon Fire Department. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II;serving in the South Pacific;where he received a bronze star. Mr.Venneri was preceded in death by a daughter;Wilma Jean Dudgeon;who died in 1972. Survivors include his wife;Ethel Sethman Venneri;two sons;Arthur Baumgardner and William M.Venneri Jr.;both of Belle Vernon;one daughter;Mrs.Vincent (Vicki) Costanza of Charleroi;one brother;Eugene (Vic) Venneri of Belle Vernon;one sister;Helen Thieser of Belle Vernon R.D.;and six grandchildren. Friends will be received Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;where a Blessing service will be held Friday at 10 a.m.;followed by interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery. William S.Vagli;65;of Mt.Pleasant R.D.5;died Saturday;Dec.15;1979;in Shadyside Hospital;Pittsburgh. He was born Nov.10;1915;in Monessen;son of Vertighe Corti Vagli and the late Lawrence Vagli. He had attended Monessen public schools and was a retired supervisor of the cold reduction department of the Irvin Works of U.S.Steel Corp. Upon retiring;he formed the William S.Vagli & Associates Consulting firm;a consultant to steel firms with worldwide operations. He was a member of St.Cajetan Church of Monessen. Surviving are his widow;Lillian T.Vagli of Laurelville;Pa.;sons;Robert E.Vagley of Alexandria;Va.;and Dr.Richard T.Vagley of Oakmont;Pa.;one sister;Mrs.William (Rosemary) Hans of Monessen;one brother;Raymond Vagli of Monroeville and two granddaughters. She was born May 21;1908;in Fairhope;a daughter of the late John W.and Blanche Mugrage Ashley. A lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area;she was a member of Marion Presbyterian Church in Fairhope. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;Clinton Veach;June 13;1974. Survivors include one sister;Mrs.Lester (June) Hawk of Perryopolis;and one nephew;Donald J.Evans of Belle Vernon. Mr.Ventura was a veteran of World War II;and served in the U.S.Navy. He retired in 1980 from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Company;Monessen plant;Pump House Department. He was a Monessen resident for 25 years. He was preceded in death by his wife;Dolores Ventura;who died on March 9;1986. Survivors include one daughter;Mrs.Gerard (Lynn) DeiCas of Charleroi;one son;Lee Ventura of Pittsubrgh;one grandson;Nicholas Ventura;and two brothers;John Ventura of Belle Vernon and George Ventura of the state of Wisconsin.
