Lena V.Vaccaro;69;of Belle Vernon;died Monday;Oct.18;1993;at 6:15 p.m.in Montefiore Hospital;Pittsburgh. She was born in the state of Wyoming;June 10;1924;a daughter of the late George and Santina Zamboni Amodio. Mrs.Vaccaro was a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church;Belle Vernon;and a member of the Church Women. Additionally she was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary;the AARP;the Golden Agers of Belle Vernon and the Belle Vernon Women’s Club. Mrs.Vaccaro was a graduate of California State Teachers College. She taught English and history at Centerville High School and then taught at the former Belle Vernon High School. She retired from the Belle Vernon Area School District in 1989 with 33 years of service. At the time of her retirement she was head of the high school’s English Department. She is survived by a son and his wife;Dennis J.and Beth Vaccaro of Belle Vernon R.D.5;and a granddaughter;Nicole K.Vaccaro. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;Anthony V.Vaccaro;March 19;1976.
