Mrs. Dorothy Currie;66;mother of Charleroi High school football coach James (Rab) Currie;died Wednesday;Sept.29;1954;at 3:30 p.m. in the Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. A former resident of Roscoe and Monessen;Mrs.Currie had been ill only a short time and last Friday underwent a serious operation for an abdominal ailment. A member of the Presbyterian Church of Roscoe;Mrs.Currie was born Aug.26;1988;in Banning;Westmoreland County. She is survived by two sons;Willis;with whom she made her home at 722 Cedar avenue;Northside;Pittsburgh;the past several years;and James;a daughter;Mrs.Ruth Regan of Brentwood;two brothers;Harry and George Hileman;both of Roscoe;and a sister;Mrs.Bessie Osborne;also of Roscoe. Four grandchildren also survive. Friends will be received at the home of her brother;Harry Hileman;Roscoe. She is survived by her husband;Frank Cvetan;three sons;Frank;Jr.;of Waukegan;Illinois;Rudolph of Braznell;and Joseph at home;one daughter;Mrs.Barbara Rade of Fayette City;two brothers;Nicholas;North Chicago;Illinois;and Embria in Europe;six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mrs.Cardinale was born in New Orleans;March 27;1893;the daughter of Charles and Mary Grazia Celino Campiere. She came to Charleroi forty-two years ago and was a member of St.Jerome’s Church and the Giuseppina Verdi Lodge;1056;of Charleroi. Preceded in death by her son;Louis Cardinale who died just two months ago;she is survived by her husband;Sam Cardinale;three daughters;Mrs.Constance Caremala of Long Island;New York;Mrs.Marie Rocca of Charleroi;and Mrs.Stella Gibino of Dunlevy;her step-mother;Mary Campiere in Italy;two step-brothers and two step-sisters;all in Italy;eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
