A former Belle Vernon resident;Mary Irene Duwall;51;was killed instantly when the car she wsa driving collided with a truck at a crossroads on the Tamiami Trail highway in Florida. Miss Duwall;who was alone in the car;was traveling to Miami;Fla.;so spend the Christmas holidays with friends. She was killed only 17 miles from her destination. Miss Duwall lived at 316 Devon Drive;Birmingham;Ala.;and was a member of the staff of the University of Alabama;where she was associate profesor of psychology. She was graduated from Belle Vernon High School in 1934;Mt.Sinai School of Nursing at New York City and Peabody College at Nashville;Tenn. At the latter she received a Ph.D.in psychology. Miss Duwall was born in Rostraver Twp.;on Sept.21;1916.
