He was employed as a social worker for the state Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation. He previously had worked with the U.S.Graves Registration Service in Alaska and at one time had been a funeral director in Gerard;Pa. Harry R.Farmer;74;of Morton St.;New Eagle;died Saturday;Oct.5;1968;in the Monongahela Memorial Hospital;after an illness of four years. Mr.Farmer was born in Nottingham;England;Nov.4;1893. He was the son of the late Harry and Martha Farmer. He came to America 60 years ago and had been a resident in the Monongahela area for the past 45 years. He was a retired electrical engineer for the Jones Brewing Co.;Smithton. He was a World War I veteran;having served in the U.S.Army. Survivors include his widow;Ruth;two daughters;Mrs.June Doyle of Greensboro;N.C.and Mrs.Ruth Gamble of Richboro;Pa.;one sister;Mrs.Jennie Meason of Mt.Pleasant;three grandchildren. A retired coal miner;Mr.Frederick was a member of American Legion Post 659;Sons of Italy;Italian Beneficial Society;all of Belle Vernon;North Italian Political Association of Monessen and Garibaldi Lodge of Dunlevy. Mr.Frederick served in the armed forces in France during World War I. His wife;Flora;died in 1956.
