Born Jan.30;1926;in Monessen;he was a son of Mrs.Rozalia Kovalchuk of Monessen and the late Thomas Kovalchuk who passed away in 1971. He was employed as an auditor by the State Department of Labor and Security. A U.S.Air Force veteran of World War II;Mr.Kovalchuk was a member of Monessen Elks Lodge 773. Surviving are his widow;Mrs.Marion Wells Kovalchuk;two sons;Richard and Mark;and a daughter;Lorraine;all at home;and three brothers;Walter;Thomas and Fred J.;all of Monessen. Victor P.Kaylor;56;of Fayette City R.D.1;died Saturday;May 10;1975;at 6 a.m. in Colonial Manor;Brownsville following a lengthy illness. He was born Dec.20;1918;in New Haven;W.Va. Mr.Kaylor was a U.S.Army veteran of World War II. Before entering the service Mr.Kaylor was a coal miner. Mary Keller Kunka of Belle Vernon R.D.2;formerly of Monessen;died suddenly at 8 a.m. Saturday;Feb.22;1975;after being admitted to Monongahela Division of Mon Valley Hospital. She was 78. She was born in Austria-Hungary and had lived in Monessen practically all her life until moving to Belle Vernon two years ago. Mrs.Kunka was a member of the First Christian Church of Monessen. Surviving are one daughter;Myra Kunka of Brooklyn;N.Y.;four sons;Jess Kunka of Monessen;Eugene Kunka of Belle Vernon R.D.2;with whom she resided;Louis Kunka of Belle Vernon R.D.2;and Myron Kunka of Monessen;and 10 grandchildren. Fred Kozak of 807 Cardiff Ave.;Lynnwood;Belle Vernon;was dead on arrival at Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital on Wednesday;Feb.19;1975;at 6:20 p.m. He was 87. Mr.Kozak was retired from the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. He belonged to Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church;Lynnwood;and was a charter member of the Russian Club of Pricedale. Preceding him in death were his wife;Anna Kozak;who died Oct.13;1974;and two daughters;Mrs.Mary Swader and Mrs.Alice Boris;both of whom died in 1945. Surviving are one daughter;Mrs.Alvin (Helen) Bulger of Belle Vernon;two sons;William Kozak of Brigham City;Utah and Sam Kozak of Okmulgee;Okla.;one sister;Mrs.Anna Rock of Cambridge Springs;Pa.;15 grandchildren;and 22 great-grandchildren. Mrs.Kurtak was preceded in death by her husband;Andrew Kurtak;in March of 1962;a daughter;Mary;in November of 1960;and three sons;Andrew Kurtak in April of 1964;Michael Kurtak in February of 1967;and Joseph Kurtak in September of 1969.
