A former Monessen resident;Carl William Lawson Sr.;54;of 540 North Sixth St.;Clairton;died at his home Saturday;Feb.23;1963;at 2:30 a.m.Born in Monessen on July 24;
1908; he was the son of the late
Ida Skarlin and Louis Lawson.
He lived in Monessen for about 35
years before moving to Clairton.
He was an employe in the cold
reduction division of the U. S.
Steel’s Irwin Works. He was a
member of the Junior Mechanics
of Clairton; Odd Fellows of Glassport
and Pine Run Methodist
Church of Clairton.
Surviving him are his widow;
Anna Wagner Lawson; a daughter;
Karen Ann; at home; two
sons; Richard; at home; and Carl
Jr. of Sarver; Pa.; two sisters;
Mrs. Margaret Sisler of Monessen
and Mrs. Dorothy Bankerd of
Belle Vernon; and one grandchild.

He retired 16 years ago as a
miner and was a member of the
United Mineworkers. He was a
member of the Garibaldi Lodge
of Dunlevy and the Italian Beneficial Society of Belle Vernon.

She suffered a heart attack on Friday while at the home of her daughter;Mrs.Mary Beatty of Washington. Born in Webster;Mrs.Lynch had been a Valley resident all her life. She was preceded in death by her husband;Samuel J.;in May;1948;and a son;Joseph S.in October;1958. Mrs.Lynch was a member of St.Sebastian’s R.C.Church in Belle Vernon.
