A retired coal miner;he was born in Austria-Hungary on March 19;1885. Mrs.Elmira McCraw Lacy;80;of 960 Grant Ave.;Monessen;died Wednesday;Sept.29;1965;at 6 p.m. in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital.after a long illness. Mrs.Lacy was born in Salem;Va.;Jan.19;1885;and had been a Monessen resident since 1924. Mrs.Lacy was a member of Union Baptist Church;Monessen;and was mother of the church. She was president of the Senior Missionary Society and past assistant superintendent of the Sunday School of the church. She had been president of th Youghiogheny Western Baptist Association Women’s home and Foreigh Missionary Convention for 33 years and was past vice president of the Pennsylvania State Baptist Women’s Convention and vice president of the Lott Carey Missionary Convention. She was a member of Coury of Calanthe of Scottdale.
Surviving are two daughters;Mrs.Helen Little;with whom she made her home;Mrs.Etta Wilson of Pittsburgh;three sons;Maurice of Aquasco;Md.;Harry of Monessen and Clarence of Pittsburgh;seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Friends are being received at the Beverly Draper Funeral Home;Monessen. Funeral services will be held from the Union Baptist Church;Monessen;Saturday;Oct.2;1965;at 1 p.m. the Rev.D.D.Chatman will officiate. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
