Her husband; Ignatius
Putnak; preceded her in death
in Dec. of 1958 as did a sister;
Mrs. Joseph (Mary) Kachala;
in 1971.
Survivors include two
brothers; John Yuschak of
Belle Vernon and Walter V.
Yuschak of Charleroi; and one
sister; Mrs Andrew (Helen)
Scheponik of Charleroi.

Born Jan.5;1915;in Monessen;he was a son of the late Michael and Bertha Shamitis Powlowsky;and was a lifelong resident of the community. He had been employed at the Page Division;American Chain & Cable Co.;in Monessen;and later at Liggett Spring & Axle Co. in East Monongahela until his retirement in 1975. Mrs. Patterson had been a lifelong resident of the Mon Valley and was a substitute teacher in the Belle Vernon Area School District. She was born in Gallatin on April 24;1914. Mrs. Patterosn was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon and the Regular Sunday School Class of the church. She also belonged to Belle Vernon Chapter No.196;Order of Eastern Star;American Association of Retired Persons and the Belle Vernon Women’s Club. Her father;George Witherspoon;preceded her in death. He was born in Long Branch on July 9;1921;son of the late Howard and Eliza Wood Pierce. He had lived in Belle Vernon since 1950;formerly residing in Charleroi and Long Branch. Mr.Pierce was a member of St.Sebastian Catholic Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3557;both of Belle Vernon. He had served with the U.S.Army during World War II. He was a craneman in the No.8 tube mill at the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. He was preceded in death by a son;Joseph Howard Pierce in 1947;and by a brothr;Everett Pierce.
