Ernest David Pierce;56;of 209 Grove Ave.;Belle Vernon;was dead on arrival at Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital at 8 a.m. Sunday. He was born in Long Branch on July 9;1921;son of the late Howard and Eliza Wood Pierce. He had lived in Belle Vernon since 1950;formerly residing in Charleroi and Long Branch. Mr.Pierce was a member of St.Sebastian Catholic Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3557;both of Belle Vernon. He had served with the U.S.Army during World War II. He was a craneman in the No.8 tube mill at the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. He was preceded in death by a son;Joseph Howard Pierce in 1947;and by a brothr;Everett Pierce.
