Nelson B.Ross;67;Broad Ave.;Ext.;Belle Vernon;died Saturday at 12:40 p.m.after a short illness;in Oakland Veteran Hospital;Pittsburgh. Mr.Ross was born in Pricedale;March 21;1892 and had spent his entire lifetime there. He was self-employed in the sanitation department of Belle Vernon. He was a member of the Speers St. A.M.E.Church of Belle Vernon;Joseph H.Ford Post 691;American Legion of Monesssen and Veterans of World War I of Charleroi. Surviving are his wife;Rosa;two brothers;George of Monessen and Louis N.of Washington;D.C.;three sisters;Elizabeth Ross of Youngstown;Ohio;Mrs.Eva Minnie of Donora and Mrs.Barbara Brown of Monessen. Friends are being received at the Draper Funeral Home;Monessen;from 1 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday;Nov.24;at 2 p.m.from the Speers Street A.M.E.Church;Belle Vernon with the Rev.Luther Owen officiating. Mrs.Laura Powell Russell;89;of Monessen;died in the Evangelical United Brethren Home;Quincy;Pa.;October 2;1959;at 9:10 p.m. Mrs.Russell had been a resident of Monessen since 1902;and was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren church of Monessen. Preceded in death by her husband;Alfred Thomas Russell in 1932;and her son;Samuel;in 1957;she is survived by one sister;Mrs.Clara Levens of Pittsburgh;four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Sunday at the Rhome Funeral Home;Monessen;and services will be held there;October 5;at 1:30 p.m. in charge of Rev.Lester Crum. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
