The body of a 21-year-old Rostraver Twp.soldier who was killed on Saturday;June 7;1969;in Vietnam;has been returned home. S.W.3 John S.J.Staff;son of James H.and Josephine Bankowski Staff;who live near Fellsburg;was pronounced dead at a field hospital near Saigon after he apparently stepped on a land mine near Tayen Nhon on the Saul Vanco River. Staff was a member of the Sea Bees;joining a reserve unit stationed in McKeesport in Nov.;1966. Until called up for active duty last February;he had worked with his father on the Hatfield Power Co.power plant now under construction near Masontown. His father is president of Rostraver Volunteer Fire Co.No.1 at Webster and young Staff was also a volunteer fireman. He was graduated from Belle Vernon Area High School in 1966.
