She was a daughter of the late John W.and Mary Deneen Chalfant;and was a member of the Fayette City Christin Church;a charter member of the Auxiliary of F.O.E.1356;Brownsville;Auxiliary of L.O.O.M.Chapter 172;Brownsville;and a retired cashier of a restaurant in Washington;D.C. Surviving are her husband;James A.Woods;Jr.;three daughters;Mrs.Melva Louisa Betsko of Oxen Hills;Md.;Mrs.Ruth Marie Jay of Cascade;Md.;and Mrs.Judith Ann Harmon of Brunswick;Md.;eight grandchildren;three great-grandchildren;four brothers;Wesley Chalfant of Aliquippa;Frank Chalfant of Belle Vernon;Fred Chalfant of Syracuse;N.Y.and Hugh Chalfant of Brunswick;N.J.;two sisters;Mrs.Jane Sanders of St.Petersburg;Fla.;and Mrs.Ruth Baker of Greensburg. Friends are being received in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City;where services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m.;with Rev.Bruce Smith;pastor of the Fayette City Christian Church;officiating. Frank A.Wagner;77;of 118 Beaumont St.;Belle Vernon;died at 7 a.m. Thursday;July 5;1973;in Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born July 20;1895;in Fairhope and was a veteran of World War I having served as squad leader with the 319th Infantry Regiment of the 80th Division. He was retired from Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.where he had worked as a millwright in the open hearth. Mr.Wagner was a member of First Presbyterian Church and American Legion Post 659;both of Belle Vernon;and Charleroi Barracks of World War I Veterans. Surviving are his widow;Anna;three daughters;Mrs.Raymond (Margaret) Hillman of Gibsonton;Mrs.Wayne (Phyllis) Overand of West Newton and Mrs.William (Linda) Elkin of Belair;Md.;two sons;Frank Wagner of Watsontown and Tom Wagner of Belle Vernon;two brothers;John Wagner of Belle Vernon and Claude Wagner of Detroit;Mich.;14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Friends are being received at the Harold R.Toner and Gerald R.Essey Funeral Home;Belle Vernon;from 7 to 9 p.m.Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Friday. Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m.at the funeral home with Dr.A.Arthur Talman of First Presbyterian Church;Belle Vernon;officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
