He was born in Pennsylvania on January 7;1902 the son of the late James A.and Susan (Finnegan) Woods Sr. He was a member of the Brownsville United Methodist Church;Brownsville Moose No.108;Brownsville Eagles No.1356;Brownsville Elks No.1344;Fayette County Fireman’s Association;Painters Union;L.A.T.S.E.and M.P.O.of Charleroi. He was a desk clerk at Brownsville Police Department. Surviving are three daughters;Mrs.Melva Betsko;Oxenhill;Maryland;Mrs.Ruth M.Jay of Cascade;Maryland;Judith Harmon;Brunswick;Maryland;two brothers;Edward Woods of Charleroi;Frederick Woods of Bentleyville;Pa.;two sisters;Miss Dorothy Woods of Charleroi;Mrs.Alice Spatafore of Charleroi;eight grandchildren and four great-greandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife;Louisa on August 17;1973. Friends are being received in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City;where services will be held Tuesday July 23;at 1:30 p.m.with Lloyd Kelson officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
