He was born in Becksrun;Pa;January 4;1884;the son of Noel Bissiere and Constance Latour Bissiere of France. He was a member of the Charleroi Methodist Church;coming here twenty-seven years ago from Monessen. He was a retired tin mill worker. He is survived by his wife;Leona Mersonier Bissiere;three daughters;Mrs.Ben Barnett of North Charleroi;Miss Audrey Bissiere and Miss Leona Bissiere at home;three brothers;Cashmiere Bissiere of Monessen;Henry Bissiere of Ellwood City;Pa.;and Adrian Bissiere of Canonsburg;two sisters;Mrs.Alice Daniel of Henrietta;Oklahoma and Mrs.Valeria Hannan of Monessen;and two grandchildren. Friends will be received at the late home. Services will be held there Sunday;May 21;1944;at 2:30 p.m.;with Rev.Joseph C.Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. John G.Bowen;64;a former resident of Belle Vernon;died at 1:20 o’clock Sunday morning;Feb.13;1944;at the home of his daughter;Mrs.Ray Pro;817 McKean avenue; Charleroi. For the last 15 years;Mr.Bowen had been janitor at the Belle Vernon school and previously had been employed by the American Window Glass Company. Surviving are his daughter;Mrs.Pro and a grandson;Seaman Albert J.Ward;stationed in Miami;Florida. A sister;Mrs.Joseph Raffelo;of Clarksburg;W.Va.;also survives. Friends will be received at his daughter’s home until Wednesday morning at ten o’clock when the remains will be taken to the Melenyzer Funeral Home in Belle Vernon. Services will be held there at two o’clock. Rev.Walter Klages will have charge of services and interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Chas.L.and Edwin Melenyzer are the funeral directors in charge.
