Cpl.Patsy DiRienzo;24;husband of Mrs.Anna Wassilchalk DiRienzo;of Pricedale;was killed in action in Belgium on Feb.19;1949;according to a telegram from the War Department received by his wife. Corporal DiRienzo;son of Mrs.Concetta DiRienzo;had been in service 27 months and overseas for seven months. He was born in Fayette City on July 16;1920.Besides his wife and mother;he is survived by three brothers;Marion;Phillip and Umberto. A brother of Mrs.DiRienzo;Pvt.Andrew Wassilchalk;was seriously wounded in action in France last July and is now hospitalized. Friends wll be received at the late home after 11 a.m.Saturday;May 14;1949. Services will be held there Monday;May 19;1949;at 9 a.m.;followed by additional services in the St.Eusebius Church of Fayette City at 9:30 o’clock. Rev.Savage will have charge and interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Daugherty-Brightwell Post 484 will have charge of military rites.

Mrs.Sara Etheridge Dodd;formerly of Belle Vernon;died at her home in Chambersburg;Tuesday;December 7;1948;at 10:15 p.m. She was born in St.Helens;England;August 13;1873;the daughter of George and Clara Etheridge;and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon for over sixty years. She was a life-long resident of Belle Vernon until the family moved to Chambersburg in 1944. She is survived by her husband;George L.Dodd;one daughter;Mrs.Virginia Dodd Cooper of Chambersburg;and one brother;Joseph A.Etheridge of Bridgeville.
