Death Tuesday removed one of Belle Vernon’s most highly respected citizens when John E.Eller;aged 63;a pioneer resident;passed away on Tuesday;January 29;1924;a victim of heart trouble. Mr.Eller never complained and bore his burden as only a true Christian could. His death occurred at his home;611 Broad avenue. Besides his wife;one daughter;Mrs.Ruth Neeson;of Belle Vernon;survives. The deceased was born and raised in Belle Vernon and for a number of years he was employed in the glass works;later embarking in the confectionery and groceries business for himself. He conducted this store for twelve years;retiring about 8 years ago on account of failing health. He was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church and always took an active part in religious work and at the time of his death was a member of the special board of the Methodist church. He was also affiliated with the Odd Fellows;being a gold medal member;and also the Royal Arcanium. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon;January 31;1924;at 2 o’clock in charge of Rev.Henilee of the Methodist Church assisted by Rev. Madtes of the Baptist Church. Interment will be made in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.

FUNERAL SERVICES WERE HELD IN THE BAPTIST CHURCH AT BELLE VERNON THIS MORNING FOR MR.MATTHEW G. EBENHOCH;WHO DIED SUDDENLY ON TUESDAY AFTERNOON;NOVEMBER 20;AT 2:30 O’CLOCK FOLLOWING A STROKE. THE GENTLEMAN HAD BEEN ILL FOR A LONG TIME AND SUCCUMBED IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE STROKE. HE IS SURVIVED BY THREE SONS AND THREE DAUGHTERS;ANDREW EBENHOCH OF THIS CITY;JOHN B. EBENHOCH AND JOSEPH E. EBENHOCH OF COLUMBUS;OHIO;MISS KATHRYN EBENHOCH AT HOME;MRS.JOHN T.JACKSON OF POINT MILLS;W.VA.;AND MRS. ANNA M.GARTLEY OF LOS ANGELES;CAL. HIS WIFE PRECEDED HIM TO THE GRAVE SEVERAL YEARS AGO. INTERMENT WAS MADE IN THE BELLE VERNON CEMETERY.
