William Charles Kittle;aged 76 years;president of the Valley Deposit and Trust Company;and treasurer of Belle Vernon Borough;and one of Belle Vernon’s most highly respected and esteemed pioneer residents;died very suddenly Saturday evening April;17;1926;at 8:15 o’clock at his home in 222 Main street;Belle Vernon. Death is believed to have occurred from the results of a streoke. In addition to his connection with the above offices;Mr.Kittle was treasurer of the Belle Vernon Cemetery Company;president of the Valley Land and Improvement Company;member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge;belonging to each order for a period of over fify years and was at the tme of his death treasurer of the latter organization. The aged man also served on the Belle Vernon council for a term of 30 years;and for a number of years filled the office of president of that body. He was an active member of the First Methodist Episcopal Church of Belle Vernon;having been a member of that church for the past fifty years and serving as treasurer for a period of over 35 years. Mr.Kittle was born in Washington County;July 26;1850;and had resided in Belle Vernon borough since 1868. In the year 1869 he was united in marriage to Miss Amazon Hamitt and to this union three daughters were born. He is survived by his wife;two daughters;Mrs.Alice L.Loman and Mrs.Eva B.Myers of Belle Vernon;four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. One daughter;Miss Sadie Kittle;is deceased. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon;April 20;1926;at the Belle Vernon Methodist Episcopal Church;with the pastor;Rev.D.L.Headlee;assisted by other ministers;officiating.
