Sarah Ellen Smock; aged 12 years;
a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank
Smock of Belle Vernon; died at the
family home Thursday night; January 14;
1937; at 9:10 o’clock following a lingering illness.
Surviving besides the parents are
two sisters; Frances and Cleora and one brother;Frank. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the late home. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.

Mrs.Katie Sazisky;aged 41;wife of Mike Sazisky;died Tuesday;December 27;1936;at 6 p.m.;at her home in California;Pa.; after a short illness of pneumonia. She leaves her husband;three daughters;Mrs.Helen Terwell of Charleroi;Mrs.Nellie Sack of Belle Vernon and Miss Viola Sazisky at home and one grandchild. Her mother;Mrs.Victoria Vorosky;died December 12;1935. Funeral services will be held in the home Tuesday;December 29;1936;at 1 p.m. Burial will be in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.

Elmer C. Cap Sell;41;of 941 Lookout Avenue;took his own life while in a fit of despondency at about 6 o’clock Monday morning;Dec.21;1936. His lifeless body was found hanging from a rafter in the basement of the home at 8:40 o’clock by his wife;Emilie. Mr.Sell had arisen from bed at 6 a.m.;telling his wife he was going to fire the furnace. When he did not return from the basement his wife investigated and made the gruesome discovery. He had taken a clother-line;fixed a noose aroung his neck;stepped up on a bench to fasten the rope to a rafter and stepped off the bench. Police say that Mr.Sell had not been working steadily for the past year and believe this led him to today’s rash act. In addition to his wife;he is survived by two children;Elmer;Jr.;aged 12;and Elvn;aged 8. His parents;Mr.and Mrs.Henry Sell;of Monessen;and one sister;Mrs.Hilda Miller;of Monessen;also survive.

Mrs. Henry Staff; aged 70 years;
died Friday morning;November 6;1936; in the
Charleroi-Monessen hospital. The
deceased had been ill for some
time and was removed to the hospital on Tuesday of this week
when her condition was considered
serious. She was born in England and came to this country
about thirty-seven years ago. Besides her husband; she is survived by one daughter; Mrs. Kate
Hamilton; of Donora; two sons;
Jack and Thomas; of Webster; seventeen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three brothers
and two sisters in England.
Funeral services will be held at
2 o’clock Monday afternoon from
the family home;328 Market
street; Belle Vernon. Rev. H. C.
Dunn; pastor of the Pricedale
Union Church; will be in charge of
the services. Interment will be in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.

Mrs.Mary Shultz;wife of Harry Shultz;deceased;died Sunday;August 9;1936;at 3:30 a.m.at her home in 316 Rebecca street;Monessen;following an illness of several weeks. She was born January 25;1879;at Sutersville;Pa.;a daughter of Mr.and Mrs.John Osborn. She has been a resident of Monessen for 20 years;and was an active member of the United Presbyterian Church;and a charter member of the Golden Bar Sisterhood of Dames of Malta. Surviving are two sons;Raymond and John;one step-son;George;and a step-daughter;Hilda;all of Monessen. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m.from the family residence in Rebecca street with Rev.A.F.Fulton of the United Presbyterian Church in charge. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
