Edward J. Britton; 84; of Victoria Street; Belle Vernon; died
Tuesday; Dec. 12; 2000; in VenCor; Pittsburgh. A son of the
late Emanuel and Ada Fox
Britton; he was born May 31;
1916; in Fairhope. He was a
member of the Marion Presbyterian Church and the United
Mine Workers of America. A
lifelong resident of Belle Vernon; he retired in 1975 from
the Banning Mine. Mr. Britton
served in the Pacific with the 3rd Marine Division during
World War II. Survivors
include two sons and daughters-in-law; Edward and Lois
Britton of Tucson; Ariz; and
James and Carol Britton of
Belle Vernon; a daughter and
son-in-law; Terri and Marcie
Crampo of Twilight; three sisters; Louise Swan of Toronto;
Canada; Rose Fisher of California; Pa.; and Doris Hackenson of Speers; and six grandchildren. In addition to his
parents he was preceded in
death by his wife; Zella
Deneen Britton; on Dec. 15;
1982; and a; grandson; Mark
Allen Crampo on April 9; 1996.

from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held
in the funeral home on Saturday at 10 a.m. with Pastor
William E. Lawson officiating.
Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.

Alice C.Hoyes;92;of 217 First Ave.;Belle Vernon;died Saturday;April 2;1988;at 10:42 p.m.in Mon Valley Hospital. She was born Dec.2;1895;a daughter of the late Jacob and Lura Lehew Haught. She was the oldest member of the First United Methodist Church of Belle Vernon. She was also a member of the Rebeccas and the Naomi Club. She had been a life-long resident of the Belle Vernon area. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband William C.Hoyes;Jan.1;1967. Surviving are one son;William E.Hoyes of Fort Myers;Fla.;two daughters;Mrs.Anna Morris of Jacsonville;Fla.;and Mrs.Walter (Edythe) Ferencz of Belle Vernon;one sister;Elma Breakwell of Belle Vernon;five grandchildren;seven great-grandchildren;and several nieces and nephews.
