Rosetta (Rose) L. Sechrist Mellinger Clark; 42; of Charleroi; died Sunday; Sept. 22; 2002; in Montefiore University Hospital; Pittsburgh. Rose was born Jan. 5; 1960; in Connellsville; a daughter of late Melvin D. Sechrist Sr. and Etta May Sechrist; who survives and resides in Dawson. Rose spent most of her life in the Perryopolis area; where she was a homemaker. Survivors; in addition to her mother; include her maternal grandmother; Mary E. James Edward McClain Sr.; 73; formerly of Belle Vernon; died Monday; Sept. 16; 2002; in San Jose; Calif. Born Feb. 22; 1929; in North Belle Vernon; he was a son of the late John J. and Bertha Clement McClain. He had been a resident of San Jose since 1971 and was Baptist by faith. Mr. McClain was retired from National Semi Conductor; where he worked as an electronic engineer. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict; having served in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. McClain is survived by his wife; Lavina Hewitt McClain; to whom he was married 56 years; four sons and three daughters-in-law; James E. McClain Jr. of Belle Vernon; and William and Lexie McClain; Charles and Carrie McClain; and Stephen and Beth McClain; all of San Jose; one daughter and son-in-law; Joyce and Don Neill of Willow Grove; two brothers and sisters-in-law; George and Vivian McClain of Belle Vernon; and Herbert and Kaye McClain of Charleroi; two sisters and one brother-in-law; Betty Brewer of Belle Vernon; and Patricia and Jack Narey of Monongahela; five grandchildren; Brenda; Becky; Tara; Forrest and Logan; two great-grandchildren; Ian and Cory; and was uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. Born June 21; 1916; in North Belle Vernon; she was a daughter of the late Fred T. and Grace Bickerton Boyce. Mrs. Swearer was a resident of Rostraver Township for the past 60 years. She was a member of Lynnwood Lutheran Church of Belle Vernon and was a homemaker. Mrs. Swearer is survived by one son and daughter-in-law; David and Christine Swearer of East Millsboro; one sister; June Boyce of Belle Vernon; one grandson; Joshua Swearer and wife Amanda of North Belle Vernon; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Keith and Edna Swearer of Belle Vernon; and three nieces. Robert E. Sethman; 74; of Belle Vernon; Rostraver Township; died Saturday; Sept. 21; 2002; at 6:10 a.m. at his home. Born Feb. 19; 1928; in Yukon; he was a son of the late Robert and Helen Hails Sethman. He was a resident of Rostraver Township for the past 45 years and a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; Belle Vernon. Mr. Sethman was a retired; self-employed auto mechanic and had also worked at the former Page’s Chain and Cable in Monessen. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Sethman is survived by his wife; Mildred Salsovic Sethman; to whom he was married 53 years; one daughter and son-in-law; Christine and Douglas Johnson of Belle Vernon; one son; Robert E. Sethman of Greensburg; three brothers and one sister-in-law; Harry Sethman of South Dakota; Kenneth and Barbara Sethman of Masontown; and William Sethman of the state of California; three sisters and brothers-in-law; Ethel and Charles Krasonic of West Newton; Eileen and Philip Tominello of Belle Vernon; and Janice and Paul Ceasare of Florida; six grandchildren; Jennifer; Scott; Matthew; David and Brian Johnson; and Robert Sethman; and many nieces and nephews.
