He was a resident of the Charleroi and Monessen areas most of his life; and a member of United Methodist Church of Monessen. Mrs. Baker was an avid bingo and card player; as well as a wonderful cook; specializing in ethnic Croatian food. Genevieve Sis Jacobs; 82; of Charleroi; died Wednesday; Dec. 18; 2002; in Mon Valley Hospital. She was born Sept. 11; 1920; in Dunlevy; a daughter of the late George Hayden and Mary Price Jacobs. She moved from Dunlevy to Charleroi in 1975. She started working as a waitress in 1936 at the former JIB’s restaurant in Charleroi and retired 60 years later in 1996 from the former Santoni’s restaurant. She was a member of the Dunlevy United Methodist Church and was an avid member of the Tuesday morning Bible Study Group. Surviving are one daughter; Brenda Simon of Dunlevy; two granddaughters; Marmee Simon and Marcy Schultz and husband Jamie; all of Charleroi; two great-grandsons; Jacob Arron and Caleb Schultz; two nephews; Robert R. Jacobs of Ft. A daughter of the late Dora and Grace Marston Miller; she was born in Belle Vernon on April 2; 1906. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon; a former member of the Belle Vernon Woman’s Club and was instrumental in organizing the first Girl Scouts troop in Belle Vernon. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon; she graduated from California Normal School and was a school teacher for 35 years at Marion Elementary School in the Belle Vernon Area School District.
