Charles Foster Blacka Jr.; 72; of Monessen; died Sunday; May 18; 2003; in Mon Valley Hospital. A son of the late Charles F. and Ethel M. Barnes Blacka; he was born in Arnold City on July 22; 1930. Mr. Blacka was a member of Covenant Christian Church of Belle Vernon and Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659. Formerly of Carroll Township; he had resided in Monessen since 1992 and was retired from Kimball Systems. A U.S. Marine serving during the Korean Conflict; Mr. Blacka was a private courier for the U.S. embassies in England; Morocco and Casa Blanca. Survivors include his wife of 51 years; Myra L. Stricklin Blacka; one son; Charles F. Blacka III of Bethel Park; one daughter and son-in-law; Kimberley and Joseph J. Bozik of Monessen; one brother; Edward E. Blacka of Monroeville; one sister and brother-in-law; Gail and James Koslosky of Ocala; Fla.; and two grandchildren; Shelby D. DeRosa Ryan of Reading and Michael J. DeRosa of Shadyside. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC.; a Golden Rule Member Firm; (724-929-5300); 700 Broad Ave.; Belle Vernon. Funeral services will be in the funeral home Wednesday; May 21 at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Frank DePolo officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
