Byron F. Taylor; 86; formerly of Greensburg; Bear Rocks and Belle Vernon; died Monday; November 12; 2007. A son of the late Bartrum and Inez Milby Taylor; he was born in Donora on May 11; 1921. He was a member of the Char-Belle Free Methodist Church of Belle Vernon and the Charleroi Lodge 615 F. & A. M. Mr. Taylor also served in the U. S. Army during World War II. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law; John C. and Donna Taylor of McMurray and Bill and Amy Taylor of Belle Vernon; two sisters; Jean Wood of Rockville; MD and Ruth Hubans of Bethesda; MD; one brother; John Taylor of Bear Rocks; five grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his wife; Sara McEwen Taylor in 1982. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 P.M. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. ROSE LYNCHCAPUTO CORSI
Rose Lynch Corsi was born in Belle Vernon on April 5; 1915. She was raised in Belle Vernon and married Joseph S. Lynch in 1934. They had one son; Joseph F. Lynch; who was born in 1937 in Belle Vernon. She was preceded in death by her first husband in 1958. In 1962 she married Floyd Corsi of Monessen; he had two children; Terry and Ruth. He preceded her in death in 1989. She moved to Monessen in 1957 where she lived until September 1991 when she moved to North Charleroi. In April of 2006 she moved into Mon Valley Care Center in Monongahela where she quietly passed away in her sleep on November 11; 2007. She was preceded in death by her parents; Frank and Sarah Caputo. She was the fourth of nine children and is survived by a sister; Mary Pickler; of Chesterfield Township; Mich.; and a brother; James Caputo; of Macomb; Mich. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law; Joseph F. and Nadia A. Lynch; of Clinton Township; Mich.; and their four sons: Joseph W. Lynch; of Sparta; N.J.; Thomas M. Lynch; of Monroe; Mich.; Daniel P. Lynch; of Cranberry; Pa.; and Martin S. Lynch; of Middletown; Del. She is survived by a step-son; Terry Corsi; of Rio Grande; N.J.; and his three children: Dr. Daniele Corsi Martens; of Glenmore; Pa.; Matthew Corsi; of Hewitt; N.J.; and Dr. Scott Corsi; of The Netherlands. Also surviving is a step-daughter; Ruth Corsi Benlock and her husband; Walter Benlock; of Pittsburgh; Pa.; and their two children: Lisa Benlock Rankin; of Charlotte; N.C.; and Jason Benlock; of Bethel Park; Pa. Surviving are 17 great-grandchildren. She was surprised by an 80th birthday party at the Alpine Club in April 1995 and a 90th birthday party at the Charleroi Elks in May 2005. At both affairs she was delighted to see many friends and relatives; both local and out of state. Rose is best remembered as a salesperson. She sold ladies’ clothes at Gilbert’s Ladies’ Shop in Charleroi and Friedland’s in Monessen; and she sold DutchMade at house parties. Many company records were broken when she sold Childcraft and Worldbook Encyclopedias. She also managed The Shoe Salon in Monessen for many years. Rodney Scott Miller; 39; of Baldwin; died Wednesday; Nov. 7; 2007. He was the son of B. Lorraine Pollard and the late Walter Battles; father of Michael and Tray Brandon; Christine Alexis and Tori Nicole Miller; brother of Jeffrey C. and Samuel; of North Carolina; Kevin and Mark; of Florida; and Todd and Andrew Miller; Brenda Payne; Karen Cunningham; Cynthia Hudson and Tenisha Jackson; all of Pittsburgh; several aunts and uncles; and a host of cousins; nieces; nephews and friends. Rodney was a 1987 graduate of Ringgold High School and worked as a loss prevention guard at K-Mart in Pleasant Hills (Pittsburgh).
