JOHN WACHINSKI
John Wachinski; 87; of Fairhope; died Saturday; May 31; 2008; at Jefferson Regional Health System; Jefferson Borough. Born April 15; 1921; in Alicia; he was the son of the late Leo and Catherine Grunska Wachinski. A resident of Fairhope for the past 50 years; Mr. Wachinski was a member of St. Sebastian R.C. Church; Belle Vernon; retired from the mill security department at Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel; Monessen Plant; in 1983; with 38 years of service and also served as the former treasurer of Local 1229. He was very proud to be an American who served 5 years; 9 months and 20 days in the U.S. Army in World War II; attaining the rank of sergeant. He was a member of Belle Vernon Area VFW Post 699; and Fairhope Rod and Gun Club. John loved his family with all his heart and was very devoted to his family. He is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law; Catherine Valgora; R.N.; of Belle Vernon; Adeline and Lawrence Matty of North Charleroi; and Deborah Buck of Belle Vernon; three grandchildren; Richard Valgora and wife Stephanie; both R.N.’s; Debra Mavrakis; R.N.; and husband Louis; and Samuel Caputo; a great-grandson; Richard Valgora III; and a brother and sister-in-law; Joseph and Florence Wachinski of California. He is preceded in death by his wife; Rose Corrigan on May 10; 2002; two brothers; Leo and Anthony Wachinski; and two sisters; Eva Scarton and Sophie Wachinski. Visitation will be held Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME; Family Owned and Operated; 626 Broad Avenue; Belle Vernon; 724-929-6183. A prayer service will be held Tuesday at noon in the funeral home followed by funeral Mass at 12:30 p.m. at St. Sebastian R.C. Church with the Rev. Charles P. Esposito; Parochial Vicar; as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. John W. Usher; 76; of Belle Vernon (Rostraver Township); died Friday; May 30; 2008; at 11:48 p.m. at his home. Born Aug. 14; 1931; in Belle Vernon; he was the son of the late John F. and Margaret I. Cochenour Usher. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon; Mr. Usher was a member of St. Sebastian R.C. Church; Belle Vernon; and was a retired tow motor operator for American Chain and Cable. He was also a member of the East Belle Vernon Athletic Club. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; Thomas and Cheryl Usher of Perryopolis; Robert and Martha Usher of Belle Vernon; a daughter; Darlene Furyanic of Charleroi; two brothers and sisters-in-law; Charles and Shirley Usher of Belle Vernon; George and Judy Usher of Perryopolis; two sisters and a brother-in-law; Marie and Joseph Coccari of Monessen; Betty Evangelist of Belle Vernon; eight grandchildren; Jason and wife Chrissie; John; Jill; Bryan and wife Erica; Krista; Scott; Jacqueline and Jessica; and a great-granddaughter; Hannah.
