Mary E. Kizman; 91; of Belle Vernon; died Saturday; Feb. 22; 2014. Born Sept. 10; 1922; in Monessen; she was the daughter of the late George M. and Mary Rose Kasar Kizman. A resident of Belle Vernon for the past 70 years; Mrs. Kizman was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; attended the weekday Masses at the Church of St. Anne; Rostraver Township; and was retired from the packing department at Corning Glass of Charleroi. She was preceded in death by two brothers; Michael V. Kizman; and George J. Kizman; two sisters; Elizabeth Kuglar; and Ann Peters; and a niece; Susan Peters. Joann L. Vizza; 79; of Monessen; died Friday; Sept. 3; 2010; in Family Hospice and Palliative Care; Mt. Lebanon; following a long; courageous battle with cancer. She was born in North Belle Vernon on Aug. 8; 1931; the daughter of the late Gino and Fabiola (Sylvester) Niccolai. Joann grew up in Belle Vernon; and was a 1949 graduate of Vernon High School. She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church in Monessen; and had worked as a clerk for the American Chain and Cable Co. Pages Plant in Monessen; and also at the Belle Vernon Foodland. She is survived by her husband of 54 years; Joseph J. Vizza; two daughters and a son-in-law; Teresa and Paul Riskey; of South Park; and Jennifer Vizza; of Southside; Pittsburgh; two brothers and sisters-in-law; Ralph and Marcella Niccolai; of Washington Township; and Harry and Bonnie Niccolai; of Monessen; one sister; Kathleen McCullough; of Belle Vernon; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Frank Vizza; of Belle Vernon; Rosalie and Ralph Nicksich; and Dorothy Vizza; all of Monessen; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Barbara Anne Shosky; 98; of Monessen; died Wednesday; Jan. 2; 2013; in Thorpe’s Personal Care Home; Charleroi. She was born in Monessen Aug. 22; 1914; the daughter of the late John and Barbara Kisidaj Terpak. Mrs. Shosky was a lifelong resident of Monessen and a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church. She was a former member of Most Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church and its Christian Mothers; having held many positions including president. Mrs. Shosky was an avid card player and enjoyed playing cards with her friends at card club. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law; John B. and Diane Shosky of Pleasant Hills; a daughter; Barbara M. Shosky of Monessen; three grandsons; Joshua; Jeremy and Adam Shosky; a sister; Betty Moravek of Charleroi; and numerous nieces and nephews.
