Peter P. Povrzanich; 77; of Belle Vernon; passed away on Monday; Jan. 24; 2011; in his residence. Born in Lowber on March 24; 1933; he was the son of the late Michael P. and Goldie Tomaskovic Povrzanich. He retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Co.; Monessen Plant. He was a member of St. Sebastian’s Roman Catholic Church; S.N.P.J. Lodge 729 (Yukon); Croatian Fraternal Union Lodge 194; Monessen Croatian Club and the American Legion Post 659. Pete served his country in the U.S. Army. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed supplying family and friends with fresh tomatoes all summer long. Besides his parents; he was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law; George E. and Barbara Povrzanich. He is survived by a niece; Nadine Gantner; of Belle Vernon; four great-nieces and great-nephews; Michelle Nelson; of Norfolk; Va.; Thomas Davis; of Cleveland; Mary Davis; of Pittsburgh; and Michael Davis; of Waynesburg; and a very special friend and companion of nine years; Betty Jane Curran; of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received on Thursday; Jan. 27; from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the ROBERT A. BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC.; Grand Boulevard and Marion Avenue; Monessen; (724) 684-3700. Prayers will be held on Friday; Jan. 28; at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass in St. Sebastian’s Roman Catholic Church with the Msgr. Roger A. Statnick officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The America Legion Post 659 will conduct services on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.

DONALD W. LYNN
Donald W. Lynn; 73; of Webster; died Sunday; Aug. 19; 2012; in Monongahela Valley Hospital. Mr. Lynn was born in Webster; July 17; 1939; a son of the late Everett and Florence Branthoover Lynn. Don was the owner/operator of DW Lynn Garage in Webster (previously the Everett Lynn Garage); where he worked all his life and got his start as an auto mechanic. He had a passion for motor sports and NASCAR and participated with racing at Motordrome Speedway as an owner; driver and mechanic of a number of cars. Don received the Mechanic of the Year Award during the 2000 racing season. His enjoyment for all sports led him to serve on the Rostraver Township Recreation Board for many years. He enjoyed watching any sporting event; especially the baseball and football games his grandsons participated in. Don was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Don served in the Army Reserve as a private from 1960 to 1966. He was a 1957 graduate of Rostraver High School. Don was a member of the Webster United Methodist Church and a member and Past Master of Tri County Lodge 252 F AM; where he received the Mason of the Year Award in 1987. He was preceded in death by his wife; Joyce Bazilwich Lynn; who died in 1994; a brother; Robert Lynn; and two sisters; Ruth Adams and Jean Leach. Survivors include his son; Donald W. Lynn Jr. and his wife; Gina (Ciccarelli); of Belle Vernon; two grandsons; Spencer Everett and Parker John Lynn; numerous nieces and nephews; and a good friend; Frances Hines; of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday; Aug. 21; at the JAMES A. Lillian T. Vagli; 96; of McLean; Va.; formerly of Belle Vernon; passed away in her home on Sunday; Jan. 26; 2014. A daughter of the late John and Rose Melani Tesi; she was born in Belle Vernon on Dec. 12; 1917. Before moving to McLean; Va.; in 2003; Lillian resided in Mt. Lebanon; Monessen and Laurelville. She was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law; Robert E. Vagley and his wife; Holly; of McLean; Va.; and Dr. Richard T. Vagley of Pittsburgh; six grandchildren; Erin S. Vagley; Beth A. Vagley; Sarah E. Middleton and her husband; Tim; Adam S. Vagley and his wife; Sharon; Andrew C. Vagley; and Christian C. Vagley; two great-grandchildren; Taylor K. Middleton; and Wyatt C. Middleton; and two sisters-in-law; Mildred Vagli and Rosemary Hans.
