Born in Fairhope; Feb. 8; 1944; she was a daughter of the late Oliver and Alice (Carbaugh) Forsythe. Darlene was Protestant by faith. A homemaker; she liked to cook; and she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her three sons; David T. Emerick; of Rostraver Township; Mark A. (Beth) Emerick; of West Newton; and Brian L. (Barbara) Emerick; of Belle Vernon; daughter; Connie L. (Steve) Courie; of West Newton; 11 grandchildren; April (Jake) Lash; Anthony Harrold; Edin Emerick; Jerid Emerick; Justen Emerick; Josh Williams; Amber Emerick; Izryah Emerick; Brian Emerick Jr.; Adrianna Emerick and Hannah Emerick; three great-grandchildren; Noah and Angel Harrold and Valeria Emerick; two brothers; John Forsythe; of Monaca; and Chuck (Jane) Forsythe; of Roscoe; and two sisters; Lorraine (Ted) Wukovich; of Van Voorhis; and Ruth Carr; of Ohio. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband; John R. Emerick; on July 19; 2006; son; John R. Emerick Jr.; and two sisters; Joyce Kadar and Barbara Soutter. Mary Ellen Gush; 93;formerly of Pricedale; passed away Thursday; December 22; 2011 in Country Care Manor. A daughter of the late Edward B. and Ellen Eliza Smart Nichols; she was born on May 17; 1918. A resident of Pricedale for over 60 years; she retired in 1991 from the Belle Vernon Area School District where she was a janitor. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law; Mark and Linda Gush of Belle Vernon; one daughter; Sara Himmelwright Russo and her husband; Regis; of Zelienople; eight grandchildren; Mark B. Gush (Emily); Fernie Gush Panepinto and her husband John; Shane Gush and his wife Stephanie; Grant Gush; Trevor Gush; Lynette Himmelwright; Gary Himmelwright and Markette Himmelwright and 14 great-grandchildren.
