Frank C. Ferreri; 91; of Belle Vernon; passed away Friday; Oct. 18; 2013; in Monongahela Valley Hospital. A son of the late Joseph and Rose Mazzo Ferreri; he was born in Gardhurly; Ky.; on July 4; 1922. A member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; Frank served in the U.S. Army; Darby’s Rangers; during World War II and retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel; Monessen Plant; in 1985. He served six years as a councilman and 20 years as Mayor for Belle Vernon Borough; was a former member of the Fayette County Housing Authority for 15 years; and the VFW Post 699. Survivors include his wife of 67 years; Jean Vaccaro Ferreri; a son; Joseph Ferreri of California; Pa.; a daughter; Linda Jean Ferreri Overking and her husband; Patrick Overking; of Bruceton Mills; W.Va.; two grandsons; Zachary Overking and his wife; Cassandra; and Joshua Overking and his wife; Nikki; and three great-grandchildren; Ivy; Olivia and Zoe Overking. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his sister; Jean Bellante. A funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Monday; Oct. 21; 2013; with the Msgr. Roger A. Statnick as celebrant. Dorcas Doris (Trembach) Maranich; 82; of Monessen; died Saturday; Aug. 28; 2010; in West Palm Beach; Fla. She was born April 6; 1928; in Pricedale; to the late Peter and Mary Trembach. She graduated from Marion High School in 1945. Over the years Doris provided caregiver services for numerous families in the Monessen and Pittsburgh areas. She enjoyed cake decorating; photography and stained glass. She created the stained glass window that is currently displayed at Full Gospel Church; in Belle Vernon. She was an active churchgoer and attended services at First Methodist Church of Monessen; the Pricedale Union Church; and the Full Gospel Church. Doris was preceded in death by her husband; John Maranich; her parents; Peter and Mary Trembach; two brothers; Peter and Sam Trembach; and one sister; Anne Darlak. She is survived by a son; Michael J. Filicko; his wife; Sharon; and their son; Connor Rockwell Filicko; of Delaware; daughter; Janet M. Montelongo; her husband; Ernest; and their daughter; Isabella Faith Montelongo; of Florida; and stepdaughter; Alice Reid; her husband; Lowell; and their children; Ella and Preston Reid; of Georgia. She is also survived by a brother; Walter Trembach; and sisters; Mary Hostenske and Martha Petronko; as well as many nieces and nephews. Albert Al the Baker Franceschi; 91; of North Belle Vernon; died Thursday; June 3; 2010; at Monongahela Valley Hospital; Carroll Township. Born April 7; 1919; in Gallatin; he was the son of the late Milano and Angelina Piantini Franceschi. A lifelong resident of North Belle Vernon; Mr. Franceschi was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; and was a bread salesman for Aunt Hannah’s Bakery and Wonder Baking Co. After retiring from the bakery; he worked for an additional 25 years at Karolcik’s Giant Eagle in Bentleyville. In his younger years; he was a member of the Men’s Traveling Bowling Team; and later became a member of the Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659; where he enjoyed playing bocci and making ravioli for their spaghetti dinners. Albert was also a member of the Belle Vernon Musical Society and the Perryopolis bocci league. He is survived by daughter and son-in-law; Patricia and Leonard Bednar; of Mt. Laurel; N.J.; two grandchildren; Paul Bednar; of Pittsboro; N.C.; and Christopher Bednar; of Houston; Texas; and three great-grandchildren; Matthew; Andrew; and Thomas Bednar. He was preceded in death by his wife; Mary Lekic Franceschi; who died Feb. 13; 1997; five brothers; Oscar; Eugene; Amerigo; Lee and Milan Franceschi; and two sisters; Sabina Pupilli and Elsie Guadagnino.
