Ralph M. Hutton; 83; of Belle Vernon; died Thursday; Feb. 12; 2009; in the Hallsworth House of Monessen. A son of the late Harry and Frances Winger Hutton; he was born in Jeannette on Nov. 21; 1925. Formerly of Jeannette; he had resided in Belle Vernon since 2000. Ralph served in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the USS Princeton and during the Korean Conflict aboard the USS Intrepid. Ralph received a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from the Indiana Institute of Technology of Ft. Wayne; Ind.; and retired in 1981 from Holcroft and Company of Livonia; Mich.; where he was the vice president of erection. Survivors include his wife of 63 years; Veronica ‘Vera’ Reho Hutton; two brothers and two sisters-in-law; John Hutton of Pahrump; Nev.; Donald and Estelle Kemerer; of Sewickley; and Betty Clark; of Windermere; Fla.; one brother-in-law; John Reho and wife Betty; of Belle Vernon; one uncle and aunt; Art and Jane Winger; of Spring Church; Pa.; and many nieces and nephews. Ralph was loved by all who knew him. Verne E. Horan; 79; of Belle Vernon; died Thursday; May 14; 2009; at Jefferson Regional Health System; Jefferson Borough. Born July 30; 1929; in Monessen; he was the son of the late William and Zeta (Baldwin) Horan. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon; Mr. Horan was a member of First United Methodist Church; Belle Vernon; was a retired fire inspector and security officer from Whg-Pgh Steel; Allenport and Monessen Plants and was a veteran of the Korean War where he served in the Navy. He was also a member of the Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659; past president; chief and life member of the Belle Vernon No. 2 Fire Company; member of the Belle Vernon Borough Council for the past 34 years; where he was currently serving as president; member and past president of the Fayette County Fireman’s Association; past president of the Western PA Fireman’s Association; past president of the Old Timers Association; past president of the High Hatters Association; Western vice president in the State Fireman’s Association; past president of the Southwest Fire Chief’s Association; honorary member of the Kittanning No. 6 and Normalville Fire Companies and member of the Gooseneckers Association. He was also a former member of the Washington Township Fire Company. He is survived by his wife; Sue (Beazell) Horan; to whom he was married 57 years; son and daughter-in-law; Charles and Michele Horan; of Washington Township; granddog; Dalmatian Ryan; three sisters; Sara Hrychko; of Monessen; Colleen Lucko; of Bentleyville; and Kathy Uhrinscko; of West Newton; and a brother-in-law; Charles Beazell; of Tampa; Fla. He was preceded in death by three brothers; William; David and Leroy Horan; and three sisters; Lucille Baddock; Dolores Gallagher and Joan Deneen.
