Warren Maxen; 90; of Belle Vernon; formerly of Brownstown; Fayette City; passed away Sunday; March 16; 2014; in his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born Oct. 12; 1923; in Barbour County; W.Va.; son of of the late Thomas R. Maxson and the late Lillian Fornash Maxson. He was retired from the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Co.; Allenport plant. Warren was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a former member of the Fayette City C and MA Church. He is survived by his wife of 67 years; Ethel Rhoades Maxen; son-in-law; David England of Monessen; and two special nephews; James Maxson and wife; Jill; of Elizabeth Township and Byrl Sonny Maxson and wife; Edna Mae; of Fayette City; and numerous other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter Mary Sue England; seven brothers; Sanley; Robert; Bryl; Charles;Dana; Thomas and Richard Maxson and two sisters; Lucille Maxson and Betty Lanham. Funeral services were held Tuesday for Betty Kunsa; 89; of Monessen; who passed away Sunday; Jan. 18; 2009; in Mon Valley Hospital. She was born Sunday; May 18; 1919; in Naomi (Fayette County). She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Charleroi; an avid bowler; and she enjoyed horse racing. Surviving is her husband; George Kunsa; two sons; Richard Kunsa and wife Claire; of Jefferson Hills; and Daniel Kunsa and wife Karen; of Havertown; Pa.; grandchildren; Jason and Tyler Kunsa; Jeffrey Nelson and wife Holly; Ryan Nelson; Rodlyn Checcio and husband Jeff; Shannon McCullough and husband Craig; and Ashley Coffield and husband Bradley; great-grandchildren; Addison; Alexander; Baylor; and Dylan.
