Joseph Francis (Joe) Walkush; 89; of North Belle Vernon; died Wednesday; May 5; 2010; at 10:52 p.m. at his home. Born Apri1 3; 1921; in Belle Vernon; he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Heretic Walkush Sr.; and was the 10th of 13 children. He attended Belle Vernon High School and married Adeline Pierotti; of Wickhaven; and recently celebrated their 60th anniversary. Joe and Adeline raised a family of four in Belle Vernon and were lifelong members of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Parish. Joe went to work in the coal mines at an early age to support the family; and later owned two restaurants and finished his career as a mail carrier. He died as he lived; happy and surrounded by his devoted wife and children. He is survived by his wife; Adeline Pierotti Walkush; his children; Joe and Mary Walkush; Patty and Tad Kinne; Peggy Walkush and spouse; Jan Tisdale; Jonathan Walkush and spouse; Amber Derek; grandchildren; Joe and Susan Walkush; Ann; Jonathan; Greg and Declan; great-granddaughter; Adeline; brother; Melvin Walkush; sister and brother-in-law; Cecelia and Donald Sweitzer. He is preceded in death by a brother; Carl Walkush; and nine sisters; Ann Moxin; Helen McCullough; Mary Altieri; Frances Curcio; Edith Walkush; Ethel Walkush; Irene Gibson; Mildred Ward and Augustine Ezolt. Joseph A. Uncle Joe Beresik; 70; of North Belle Vernon; died Sunday; Oct. 31; 2010; at 8:33 p.m. at Country Care Manor; Washington Township. Born June 28; 1940; in North Belle Vernon; he was the son of the late Joseph S. and Mary Teplican Beresik. A lifelong resident of North Belle Vernon; Mr. Beresik was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; where he served as an usher for many years; was a retired kiln operator from Corning Glass; of Charleroi; and was a member of the Belle Vernon Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 209. He is survived by his sister; Darlene Beresik Engel; of Belle Vernon; a nephew; David Joseph Engel; of Belle Vernon; and his fiancee; Mandy Lowther; of Fayette City.
