Katherine (Davis-Madison) Mason; 87; of Monessen; affectionately called Honey; was called home to be with the Lord on Monday; Jan. 28; 2013 at Monongahela Valley Hospital with her family at her side. Born Oct. 10; 1925; in Monessen; she was the daughter of the late Nellie Shinhoster-Davis and Clyde Davis Sr. She was preceded in death by her first husband; Napoleon Madison Sr.; daughter; Lorraine Madison; four brothers; Claude; Clyde Jr.; James; and Alton Davis; three sisters; Henrietta and Mary Lee Davis; and Anna Lee Davis-Harvey; and sister-in-law; Corrine Davis. Katherine graduated from Monessen High School in 1944. Katherine and Napoleon owned and operated Honey’s Lunch in Monessen during the late ’50s and early ’60s. She retired from Monongahela Valley Hospital after 25 years of service. On April 16; 1995; she united in marriage to Samuel Mason. She was a faithful member of Gate Heaven Church of God In Christ in Monessen under the leadership of Elder William C. Bass Sr. She held various positions within her church and community; Mothers Board; Sunday School Teacher; Chairperson of Women to Women; Pastor’s Aide Committee; member of Monessen Senior Center Advisory Board and member of SAC of Mon Valley. Honey leaves to cherish her memory; loving husband; Sam Mason; three children; Napoleon (Robin) Madison; Patty (Otis) Crosby and Gregory (Carla) Davis; all of Monessen; five step-children; Saundra Mason of Brownsville; Tina Smith of the state of Washington; Grace Farmer and Camille Simon of Houston; Texas; and Andrea Lewis of Indiana; a special nephew; Marcus Yuille; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday; Jan. 31; at Gate of Heaven C.O.G.I.C.; 644 Reed Avenue; Monessen. Esther Mae McDonald Alexander; 91; of Clairton; departed this life Friday; June 18; 2010; in UPMC McKeesport. She was born June 4; 1919; in Thomasville; Ga.; and was the daughter of the late George and Inez Graham McDonald. She was also preceded in death by her husband Grady Al Alexander. She was a very faithful; humble; sweet; prayer warrior and a long-time member of Gethsemane Church of God in Christ. She served as one of the church mothers and was on the Sunday School; Prayer and Bible Band; Gospel Chorus; Senior Choir and Young Adult Choir ministries. She served as the church janitress for many years; walking from her home down to the church to clean each week and she lovingly passed out mints to everyone each week at church. She also worked as a cook at the Belle Vernon State Trooper Division. Surviving are her children Roberto “Bobby” (Jennifer) Alexander of Woodhaven; N.Y.; Mae (Deacon Donald) McCoy and Cynthia A. Alexander; all of Clairton; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; sister-in-laws Ruth Alexander of Clairton and Lucille Wilson in North Carolina.; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends. Rosetta Delia Hughes North Charleroi Rosetta Delia Hughes; 92; of North Charleroi; peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday; Sept. 4; 2012; in the Monongahela Valley Hospital. She was the only daughter to the late Daniel and Dora Nelson. Born on April 29; 1920; she attended Charleroi public schools. She worked at Mayview State Hospital until she retired. She was a dedicated and devoted mother; grandmother and wife to her late husband; Walter Hughes Sr.; who died in 1976. She was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church; where she served on the senior choir; the missionary circle and was the mother of the church. She was a former member of the Eastern Stars. A pillar in her community; she was always willing to help. Rosetta leaves to cherish her memory eight sons; Charles Hughes of New Jersey; James H. of California; David H. of Rankin; George H.; Phillip H.; Richard H.; John H.; all of Charleroi; and Kenneth H. of Bentleyville; daughter; Emma Marie Wormack of Charleroi; 26 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband; she was preceded in death by a son; Walter Hughes Jr.; and a daughter; Beverly Fenton. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday; Sept. 10; 2012; at the Mt.
