TIMOTHY J. LABUDA
Timothy J. Labuda; 43; of Belle Vernon; formerly of Connellsville; died Monday; May 3; 2010; from complications of ALS with his family at his side at Mon Valley Hospital. He was born Feb. 10; 1967; in Passaic; N.J.; a son of Bernard J. and Mary Quinn Labuda; who survive and reside in Connellsville. He was a graduate of Connellsville High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from California University of Pennsylvania and his master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from WVU. He was employed as a specialty counselor at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic; UPMC; until he became disabled. Tim was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church of Belle Vernon. His faith is what kept him positive through his disease and it’s progression. He enjoyed his Hayabusa motorcycle; hunting and playing sports; which included the annual Turkey Bowl in Connellsville. He was a member of Camp Carmichaels; Sinnemahoning Sportsmen’s Association and Magee Women’s Hospital NICU Parents Advisory Council. He also enjoyed coaching his sons’ teams for the Rostraver Midget Football League and the Rostraver Youth Baseball Association until his illness took a toll on him. On Sept. 14; 1996; he married Pamela R. Zemba; who survives. The people that brought him the most joy and pride were his three children; Timothy John II; Natalie Ryan and Nolan Alexander. Deceased is an infant daughter; Nicole Rae. Also surviving are siblings; Susan Notker (Curt); Angela Guth (Rich); Bernard; Kevin; Karen; Katrina; Kim; Sean and Shannon Bernick (Brandon); a grandfather; Alfred Helmick; his in-laws; Sandy and John Zemba; and several aunts; uncles; nieces and nephews. His caregivers that were there for him throughout his illness were Rachel Sisley; Wanda Laatu and Dawn Fitzwater. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon; Kaly was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; and a 2009 graduate of Belle Vernon Area High School; where she was captain of the majorette team in 2009. She currently attended California University; majoring in education; and worked part-time at the PNA in Arnold City. She gave her heart to her family and friends and was full of living; laughing and loving; which is what she lived by. In addition to her parents; she is survived by her brother; Colby J. George William Ellis; 86; of Donora; departed this life peacefully on Tuesday; Nov. 30; 2010; in his home. He was born Oct. 19; 1924; in Donora; the son of the late James and Alberta Thomas Ellis. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. He attended Donora High School; where he ran track; played football; basketball and baseball. He was drafted in 1944; and was stationed in Pearl Harbor in the U. S. Navy as Seaman First Class. He was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church. He was a 33 year retiree from Christy Park; where he worked as a laborer. He was the owner of Bummey’s Bar in Donora for three years and was the manager of The Condors for 10 years. He also was a member of the Mon Valley Lodge 208 and American Legion Post 695. He participated in many softball teams; the Belle Vernon church league; Charleroi city league; Clairton 88’s; McKeesport Dave’s Walnut Inn and the Harrisburg Vikings. Surviving are his children; Sharon Ellis; of Monessen; Wonda (Keith) Hagan; of Hamilton; Ohio; Dwight and Dwayne Stoutamire; of Hinesville; Ga.; Michael Lawrence of Killeen; Texas; and Buzzy Harris; of Uniontown; 20 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren; sisters; Mary Harris; of Garnerville; N.Y.; and Marie Gardner and Francine Simms; both of Donora; brother; Daniel Thomas; of Donora; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends.
