Jseph (Shotfire) Corbett of 120 Elks Place;Belle Vernon;died Monday.June 22;1981;at 2:10 a.m. in Mon Valley Hospital. He was 69. Mr.Corbett was born March 19;1912; a son of the
late William and Sarah Beck
Corbett . He had lived in the
Belle Vernon;Rostraver area
for over 55 years.
He was a member of St.
Paul’s Lutheran Church;
Monessen; the Rostraver
Coal Center and Long Branch
Sportsmens Associations;
and the Belle Vernon Moose.
A life member of the
Rostraver PTA; he was a
former neighborhood commissioner with the Boy
Scouts of America and had
been active in area square
dancing activities for over 50
years.
A former mine worker; Mr
Corbett retired in 1977 from
the coke plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel; Monessen
plant.
Survivors include his
widow; Dorothy Frew Corbett;three sons;Joseph W. of
Raleigh; N. C.; Donald L. of
Waynesburg; a trooper with
the Pennsylvania State
Police; and David T. of
Mather; Pa ; two brothers;
James Corbett of Norris; Ill.
and Paul Corbett of Eighty
Four; Pa.; three sisters; Mrs
Mary Fowler of Coraopolis;
Pa ; Mrs. Josephine Moore of
Leisure City; Fla.; and Mrs.
Margaret Radek of
Pricedale and nine grand
children.

Anna Currie;of 1600 Taft St.;Marol Village;Hollywood;Fla.;died Thursday;April 30;1981;at 6:40 p.m.in Doctors’ Hospital;Hollywood;Fla. She was 91. Miss Currie was born June 11;1889;in Monessen;where she had been a teacher and elementary principal in the Monessen School System for many years prior to her retirement. She moved to Florida 29 years ago. She never married. Miss Currie was a former member of St.Leonard’s R.C.Church;Monessen. Survivors include a number of nieces and nephews;one;of whom is R.James (Rab) Currie;of Belle Vernon;retired former head football coach at Charleroi Area High School. A Blessing service will be held in the Rhome Funeral Home;Inc.;1209 Grand Blvd.;Monessen;at 9:30 a.m.Monday. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m.in St.Leonard’s R.C.Church;Monessen;with the Rev.Henry P.Dinicco;pastor;as celebrant. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Harold Ernest Clark;prominent pioneer mid-Mon Valley architect;died Friday;Dec.19;1975;at 1 p.m.in the Negley House Nursing Home in Pittsburgh where he had been a patient since Nov.11 after spending one month in Montifore Hospital;also in Pittsburgh. A resident of 17 Ruth Place;Clair Manor;Belle Vernon R.D.2(Rostraver Twp.);Mr.Clark received his architectural degree at Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie-Mellon University) in Pittsburgh. During his career he specialized in the construction of churches. In the Valley he designed such edifices as St.Sebastian Catholic Church and the First Presbyterian Church;both of Belle Vernon;St;Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church;St.John’s Orthodox Church;Holy Name Catholic Church and its school and rectory;First Presbyterian Church;St.Spyridon Greek Catholic Church and its social hall;St.Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and St.Cajetan Catholic Church;all of Monessen;and the Methodist Church of Speers. A U.S.Army veteran of World War I;Mr.Clark served in the 305th Engineers Regiment;80th Division;overseas in France. He was a member and past commander of Thomas R.McKeee Post 28;American Legion;of Monessen. He was also a member of the Free & Accepted Order of Masons (F&AM) Lodge 643 of Belle Vernon;McKean Commandery and Knights Templar of Charleroi;Syria Shrine of Pittsburgh;and a member of the Monessen Rotary Club. Born in Oil City;he was a son of George and Mae Smock Clark and had resided in the Monessen-Belle Vernon area virtually all his life. Surviving are his widow;Mrs.Jean Deemer Clark;one son;Harold Ernest Clark Jr. and two granddaughters;Heather Jean and Sallye Ann Clark;all of Rockville;Md.;one brother;Fred R.Clark of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received after 7 p.m.Sunday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Monday in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;where services will be held Monday at 8 p.m.with the Rev.Dr.S.Talman of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon in charge. Private interment will follow Tuesday morning in Lawn Haven Burial Estates in Worthington;Pa. Shelby D.Ferguson is the funeral director in charge. John M. Chuhanic of
Charleroi R D 2 died Friday;March 6;1981; at 12:30 p.m. in
Montefiore Hospital; Pittsburgh. He was 38.
Mr. Chuhanic was born July 30;1942; in North Charleroi;
a son of Michael and Jarmilla
Cernicky Chuhanic; who survive and reside in Charleroi
R D 2. He is also survived by
several aunts and uncles.
A lifelong resident of the
Charleroi area; Mr. Chuhanic
was a member of St Sebastian Roman Catholic Church
in Belle Vernon. He was a 1962 graduate of
Penn State College;
McKeesporl Campus; where
he was vice president of the
Kiwanis Club during his
senior year. Mr. Chuhanic was
employed by R. T. Patterson;
Inc ; of Pittsburgh; as an
electrical draftsman. Friends will be received in

Michael Chornak;of Belle Vernon;died Wednesday;Jan.7;1981;in Mon Valley Hospital following a lengthy illness.  He was 52.  Mr.Chornak was born Oct.16;1928;in Monongahela;a son of the late John Chornak and Anna Sidum;who survives and resides in Monongahela.
