He moved to Monessen five years ago from Pittsburgh;where he had been pastor of the Allen Chapel A.M.E. He was born Nov.30;1916;in Caldwell County;N.C.;the son of the late Elis and Emma Hayes Davis. He was a U.S.Army veteran of World War II and a Methodist by faith. Mr.Davis has pastored at the Kittanning A.M.E.Church;the St.Paul A.M.E.Church;Midland West Bridgewater A.M.E.;Tarentum Bethel A.M.E.and the Allen Chapel A.M.E. He was a member of the NAACP and his charge was the Third Episcopal District of the A.M.E.Churches. He founded the Kiskie Community Chorus;which is still active. Daughter Ruler of Alpha Council No. 1
of Pittsburgh.
Mrs Davis was preceded in death by
her husband; Robert.
