William J. (Scotty) Ferguson;86;formely of Belle Vernon and Charleroi;died Wednesday;March 9;1988;in Mon Valley Hospital. He was born July 29;1901; a son of the late James and Margaret Irvine Ferguson. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church;Belle Vernon;and the Fayette City American Legion Club. He retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp’s Allenport Plant in 1962. Besides his parents;he was preceded in death by his wife;Mabel Robbins Ferguson;who died March 13;1974;and one brother;Pete Ferguson;in 1970. Survivors include two sons;Harold Ferguson of Monessen and William Ferguson of Donora;two daughters;Mrs.Thelma Traynor and Mrs.Hoyt (Harriet) Kite;both of Belle Vernon;one sister;Mrs.Mary Grant of Charleroi;10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;where funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Sichi Ferrari of Belle Vernon and
the late Ferrante Ferrari; who died
Feb 22;1968.
In addition to her father she was
preceded in death by a daughter;
Mara Judith Frederick; July 5;1937.
A resident of the Belle Vernon
area the past 57 years; she was a
member of St. Sebastian Roman
Catholic Church and the Legion of
Mary of the church.
Mrs. Frederick was also a
member of the Anita Garibaldi
Lodge of Belle Vernon; the Ladies
Auxiliary of Belle Vernon Fire Company No. 2 and the Ladies Auxiliary
of Belle Vernon American Legion;
Post 639.
She was a charter member of the
Belle Vernon Defense Club.
In addition to her mother; survivors include her husband; Raymond J. Frederick; a son and
daughter-in-law; Mark and Karen
Frederick of Belle Vernon; a
brother; Fosco Ferrari of Fairhope;
a sister; Mrs. Samuel (Deanna)
Sergi of Belle Vernon; and three
grandsons; Raymond; Patrick and
Michael Frederick; all of Belle Vernon.
Friends will be received Monday
from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2
to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m in the Leonard J.
Parzynski Funeral Home; 626 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;where a Prayer service will be held Wednesday;May 6;at 9:30 a.m.followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.in St.Sebastian R.C.Church;Belle Vernon.
