Robert B.Gibson;of 1234 Hillcrest Ave.;Monessen;died Monday;May 31;1982;at 7:20 p.m.in Mon Valley Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was 63. Mr.Gibson was born May 25;1919;in Monessen;a son of Robert T.Gibson of Largo;Fla.;and the late Irene Scales Gibson. He was employed in the Sheet-Mechanical Department of the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation until his retirement in 1981. Mr.Gibson was a member of the United Methodist Church and the BPO Elks Lodge No.773;both of Monessen. A resident of the Belle Vernon area most of his life;he had spent the past five months in California. Mr.Githens was a retired foreman at the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. Elizabeth Girhing of 22 Bedsworth St.;Pricedale;died Saturday Feb.13;1982 in Jefferson Center Hospital at 10:07 p.m. She was 82. Born in Bridgeport;Conn.;Oct.13;1899;she was the daughter of the late Steve and Susie Popp Ferenz. Mrs.Girhing was a member of the Reformed Hungarian Presbyterian Church of Pricedale and had spent most of her life in the Pricedale area. She was preceded in death by her husband;Andrew Girhing on May 11;1976. Allen L.Griffey;formerly of Monessen;died Monday at 4:30 p.m. in Birt Nursing Home;Uniontown. He was 87. Mr.Griffey was born June 16;1894;in Webster;a son of the late Ephraim and Nancy Griffith Griffey. A resident of Monessen most of her life;Mr.Griffey was retired from the former Page Division of American Chain & Cable Co.;Monessen. He was a member of the Elks;American Legion and World War I Mon Valley Barracks 350;all of Monessen. Survivors include a son;Louis Elwood (Cappy) Griffey of Monessen and numerous nieces;nephews and other relatives.
