Stanley J.Gerwell;86;of Charleroi;died Saturday;June 7;1997;in Mon Valley Hospital;Carroll Township. Born Dec.28;1910 in Cokeburg;he was the son of the late Charles and Josephine Mickel Gerwell. Mr.Gerwell was a member of Mary;Mother of the Church Parish;Charleroi. He was also a member of the Belgian Club of Charleroi and a life member of the Belle Vernon Moose Club. He was a retired foreman for Corning Glass;Charleroi. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by his wife;Helen Gerwell;in 1988; one daughter;Jacqueline Tylus;and one brother;Wallace Gerwell. Surviving are one brother;Charles Gerwell of Monongahela;one sister;Jacqueline McMahan of Charleroi R.D.2 (Fallowfield Township);three grandchildren;Thomas and Zigmunt Tylus Jr.;and Ron Ronick;two great-grandchildren;Ben and Brian Ronick;and one step-great-grandchild;Danielle Harrell. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Carl J.Spallino Funeral Home;819 Fallowfield Ave.;Charleroi. War II; having served with the

Angelo (Sonny) Giannini;74;of Knowle Lane;Rostraver Township;died Tuesday;April 8;1997;in Mon Valley Hospital;Inc. He was born in Gallatin;Jan.14;1923; a son of the late Candida and Annibale Giannini. Mr.Giannini was a Valley resident all of his life. He owned and operated;along with his sons;the Giannini Distributing Company of Monessen. He was a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church;Belle Vernon. During World War II;he served with the U.S.Marines in the Pacific Theater of Operations. He was a member of the Thomas McKee Post 28;American Legion for 52 years;where he served as post commander from 1954 to 1955 and 1958 to 1964. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1190;a 10-year member of the Mon Valley Leathernecks Associaion;a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 954 and Elks Lodge 773;all of Monessen. He was also a member of the Eagles Aerie 2399 and belonged to various other civic and fraternal organizations. Surviving are his wife;Genevieve Dzimiera Giannini;three sons and a daughter-in-law;Mark and Rita Giannini;Randy Giannini and Paul Giannini;all of Belle Vernon;four sisters;Cecelia Giannini;Lillian DeMarino and Gerry Elyanich;all of Monessen;and Leona Kuhn of Belle Vernon;and one grandson;Chad Giannini. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by a sister;Rose Sabol;and two brothers;Roland ‘Berry Giannini and Baldo Bud: Giannini. She had lived in Rostraver Township since 1917.
