Nazarene.
Survivors include his

James; two daughters; Mrs.
George (Thelma) Flowers of
Levittown and Mrs. Clyde
(Celia) Henry of Bentleyville
R.D.; a step-daughter; Mrs.
Angelo (Loretta) Forte of
Bentleyville; a step-son; Benjamin Robert of Benezzet;
Pa.; 10 grandchildren and
nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death
by a daughter; Pearl Piot; in
1957.

A former well-known Mon Valley resident;Clarence L.Jones;died Tuesday;Nov.20;1979 in the state of California;at the age of 96. Mr.Jones;who lived at 8336 Castilian Drive;Huntington Beach;Calif.;died in Pacific Hospital in Huntington Beach. He was born in Fitz Henry;Pa.on Aug.26;1883;son of the late Henry and Sarah Jones. He was a retired supervisor at the Monessen Freight Office of the Pittsburgh & Lake Erie Railroad;a member of the Monessen Free and Accepted Masonic Lodge and had lived in California since 1965. He was preceded in death by his wife;Myrtle Jones;who died July 28;1965. Surviving are one son;Richard Hale Jones;with whom he made his home;two sisters;Carrie S.May and Mrs.Jess Barnes;both of Hollywood;Fla.;and two grandchildren;Susan and Richard Jones;both of California. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m.with the Rev.Fred Gnatuk of the First Presbyterain Church of Fayette City officiating. Milford Q.(M Q) Jones;76;of 131 Jean St.;Belle Vernon;died in Mercy Hospital;Saturday;May 5;at 4:55 p.m. He was born in Brownstown July 14;1902;son of the late W.Hartley and Ella Evans Jones. A member of St.Sebastian Church;Belle Vernon;he was also a member of the Belle Vernon Legion Club and was a former president and secretary of the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Monessen Credit Union. Presently he was a director in that credit union. He was the first president of the Belle Vernon Golden Agers. He retired from the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp in 1966. Preceding him in death was his first wife;Ruby on June 14;1967. Surviving are his widow;Josephine Sack Jones;two sons;Milford R.of Irwin and Ronald of Richmond;Va.;two stepsons;Edward Carroll of Coral Gables;Fla.and John E.Carroll Sr.of Belle Vernon;two daughters;Mrs.Roland (Irene) Shawley and Mrs.Donald (Ruth) Rosborough;both of Belle Vernon;two sisters;Mrs.Velma Fleming of North Charleroi;Lois Jones of Ft.Lauderdale;Fla.;nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Arthur Jackson of 129 Krolic St.;Belle Vernon;died Thursday;March 9;1978 at 9 p.m. at his home. He was born Jan.15;1902 in Montgomery County;Ala.;a son of the late Wesley and Lula Jackson. Mr.Jackson has been a deacon and Sunday School superintendent at the Mt.Hebron Baptist Church of Lyndale in Terrance;Pa. A retired coal miner;he was a member of United Mine Workers Local 1190;Ellsworh and Monessen F.& A.M. Lodge 79. Survivors include his widow;Mattie Zola Jackson;two nieces;Elizabeth Harris of New York;Erma Jackson of Pittsburgh;one great-nephew;Monty Harris of New York;and several other relatives. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. Friends will be received in the Beverly C.Draper Funeral Home;608 Sixth St.;Monessen;from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday. The body will be taken to the Antioch Baptist Church Sunday at 3 p.m. where it will lie in state until Monday at 1 p.m.;the time of service. The Rev.Vernon Hawkins will officiate.
