Robert F.Jennings;82;of 125 Koslasky Ave.;Belle Vernon;died Thursday;Dec.22;1988;at approximately 12:30 a.m. in Mon Valley Hospital;Carroll Township. Mr.Jennings was born April 29;1906;in Roberta;Ga.;a son of the late Robert and Mamie Jennings. He was a retired construction demolition worker. Mr.Jennings had spent most of his life as an area resident;coming to the Mon Valley from Georgia. He was a member of Union Baptist Church;Monessen;which he served as a deacon and as a member of its Male Chorus. In addition to his parents;Mr Jennings was also preceded in death by his wife;Elizabeth Jennings;by one brother;William C.Jennings;and by two sisters;Hannah V.Hicks and Mary Jennings. Surviving are one brother and sister-in-law;Richmond and Beryl Jefferies Jennings;of Monessen;two sisters;Jody Bell Shelton of Columbus;Ga.;and Bonnie Merryweather of Fort Valley;Ga.;a niece;Willa Jane Newberry of Belle Vernon (with whom he made his home);and numerous other nieces and nephews. Born March 23;1917;she was a daughter of the late Harry C.and Sibbi Ellen Junk. She was employed as a telephone operator at the Mon Valley Health Center;and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church;Monessen. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother;Joseph Junk. Surviving are one sister;Mrs.Raymond (Beverly) Ronk of Ft.Lauderdale;Fla.;two brothers;John Junk of Winter Haven;Fla.and Harry C.Junk Jr.of Turnersville;N.J.;and many nieces and nephews. She was born July 17; 1901; in
Twilight; a daughter of the late
Robert and Katheryn Dunseth
Haywood.
She was a member of the First
Presbyterian Church; Belle Vernon.
She was a former club manager at
Pleasant Valley Country Club; Connellsville; the Uniontown Country
Club and the Lakeview Country Club
in West Virginia. She has been a
resident of the Masonic Home since
January; 1984.
In addition to her parents; she was
preceded in death by her husband;James Jones; in 1954.
Survivors include one son; James
W. Thompson of Belle Vernon; three
sisters; Mildred Forte of Ellsworth;
Martha Ventrini of Uniontown and
Betty Hawk of Connellsville; four
grandchildren; Larry; Jeffrey;
Jamie Thompson and Vicki Davis;
and nine great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Shelby D. Ferguson Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon.
