Mr. Kander lived in Belle
Vernon the past 40 years and
was a member of First United
Methodist Church.
He was a member of Belle
Verhon American Legion Post
659; the Belle Vernon Golden
Agers; AARP; United Steel
Workers of America; and the
Retired Employees of the Allenport
Plant.
He was also a member of the
former Stockdale Sokols.
He retired in 1988 after 42
years of service as a machinist
at the Allenport plant of
Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel
Corp.
He was a veteran of World
War II; serving as a signalman
with the U.S. Navy.
In addition to his parents; he
was preceded in death by two
brothers; Emery Kander; in
1943; and John Kander Jr.; in
1995; and one sister; Mary
Kurtz.
Surviving are his wife; Rose
Quintier Kander; whom he
married Aug. 5; 1950; one
daughter; Linda Kander of Bedford;
one son and daughter-in-law;
Dr. Ron and Amy Kander
of Blacksburg; Va.; and two sisters;
Elizabeth Jeney and Mrs.
David (Julia) Galuppo; both of
Coal Center. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;where services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m.with the Rev.Dr.Thomas St.Clair;pastor of First United Methodist Church;Belle Vernon;officiating. He was born in West Union;W.Va.;April 22;1917;a son of the late George P.and Germaine Castine Kyle. Mr.Kyle was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Belle Vernon;the Monongahela Historical Society;Three Rivers Tool Collectors;Ohio Tool Collectors;Early American Industrial Association and the National Pike Steam and Horse Association of Brownsville. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon;he retired in 1982 from the blooming mill of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel;where he was a roller in the Monessen Plant. Surviving are his wife;Ethel Ross Kyle;with whom he celebrated 54 years of marriage on April 7;1995;one son and daughter-in-law;George P.and Sherry Kyle III of Washington Township;one daughter;Mrs.Bruce (Toni) Usher of Belle Vernon;two brothers;Eugene Kyle of Rockford;Ill.;and Ralph J.Kyle of Winter Haven;Fla.;one sister;Elmira Steer of Belle Vernon;and two grandchildren;Ryan Usher and Justin Kyle. Harry H.Kondratic;75;of 1110 Monongahela St.;Belle Vernon;died Friday;Dec.29;1995;at 12:45 p.m.in Mon Valley Hospital;Carroll Township. Mr.Kondratic was born Nov.18;1920;in North Charleroi;a son of the late Thomas and Maria Mezza Kondratic. He was a retired glass operator at Corning Glass Works in Charleroi. Mr.Kondratic was a World War II veteran of the U.S.Army Air Corps;who served as a company clerk in Italy;Africa and Switzerland. He was a 1939 graduate of Charleroi High School. Mr.Kondratik was a lifelong resident of the Mon Valley and an Orthodox by faith. An avid card player;he was a former officer of the Slavic Citizens Club in Lock Four. In addition to his parents;he was also preceded in death by his wife;Helen Moran Kondratic;on May 8;1994;to whom he had been married for 40 years. Surviving are two daughters;Mrs.David (Janice Lee) Kondratic Yeaney of Albion and Mrs.William (Debra Ann) Harris of Newark;Del.;three grandchildren;Chad David Yeaney;Michael William Harris and Catherine Emily Harris;one brother;John Kondratic of North Charleroi;and two sisters;Helen Kondratic of Charleroi and Mrs.Albert (Olga) Hollick of Roscoe. She was born March 10;
1915; in the state of Washington
a daughter of the late Aloyious
and Rose Kawalski Trybuski.
Throughout her life she has
resided in Donora; Pricedale;
Bridgeville and for the past 1 1/2 years; in North Carolina.
Mrs. Kerekes was a homemaker. Catholic by faith; she
was a former member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic
Church; Belle Vernon.
Surviving are a daughter;
Olianus (Rosemary) Orsini of
Denton; N.C.; and four sisters;
Lena Culler of Weirton; W.Va.;
Dolores Kalemtis of New Cumberland; Md.; Ginny Tomasko
and Helen Aiello; both of
Monessen.
In addition to her parents;
she was preceded in death by
her husband; Steve A. Kerekes
on Sept. 18; 1986; and a stepfather; Steven Wrobleski.
