Zelma M.Kostelac;87;of Clinton Township;Mich.;formerly of Green Street;Belle Vernon;died Sunday;May 28;2000;at 4:10 p.m.at the home of her daughter. She was born Nov.2;1912;in Belle Vernon;a daughter of the late Charles and Maude Tharpe Hammitt. Mrs.Kostelac was a member of the First Christian Church of Belle Vernon;the Belle Vernon and Fayette City Golden Agers and the Belle Vernon Area Church Women. She resided in Michigan the past three years;and lived most of her adult life in Belle Vernon. Survivor include a daughter and son-in-law;Norma and Neal Keller;with whom she made her home;19 grandchildren;25 great-grandchildren;and nine great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;Joseph Kostelac on April 17;1998;by a son;Charles DeHosse in 1988;two daughters;Lois Mazur in 1997 and Shirley Witmyer in 1992;and one great-granddaughter;Heidi Castor in 1999. Robert A.Kyle;81;of Sebring;Fla.;formerly of Belle Vernon;passed away Sunday;May 7;2000;in Florida. He was born April 28;1919;in Johnstown;the son of the late Mr.and Mrs.William and Flora Kyle. He was employed at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel;Monessen;in the BOF department as a melter foreman for 44 years. Mr.Kyle enjoyed children and coached little league baseball in Belle Vernon. An avid golfer;he enjoyed golfing in Florida and at his summer home near Bedford. He is preceded in death by his first wife;Catherine Kyle;a sister;Mildred Bachetti;two brothers;William and Warren Kyle;and daughter-in-law;Kathleen Kyle. He is survived by his wife;Barbara Kyle;three sons;Robert M.Kyle of Fallowfield Township;Tim and Paula Kyle of Fallowfield Township;and Terry L.and his fiancee;Valerie Bilsky Kyle of Fayette City;a daughter and son-in-law;Kathy and Gregg Martinko of Greensburg;a sister;Doris Callaway of Belle Vernon;and several nieces and nephews. Frank Kurdilla;85;of Monessen;died Friday;Jan.14;2000;at 5 a.m.in Beverly Home Health Services;Uniontown. He was born Feb.18;1914;in Monessen;a son of the late Stephen and Mary Macik Kurdilla. A lifelong resident of Monessen;he was Russian Orthodox by faith. He retired in the 1970s from Homestead Works;where he worked as a machinist. A veteran of World War II;he served as a staff sergeant in the U.S.Army;where he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross;having served as a gunner and radio operator. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1190 of Monessen. Besides his parents;he was preceded in death by two sisters;Marion Kurdilla and Anna Belle Edwards. He is survived by his wife;Virginia Richie Kurdilla;with whom he celebrated 52 years of marriage Aug.31;1999;one daughter;Candace Kurdilla;at home;two brothers; Michael and sister-in-law;Rosanne Kurdilla of Belle Vernon;John Kurdilla of Belle Vernon;a sister;Mrs.Eva Schippacasse of Michigan;numerous nieces and nephews.
