Mr. Mitchell was born May
31; 1921; in Washington
Township; Fayette County; a
son of the late Ossie and Anna
Garggich Mitchell.
A Catholic by faith; he was a
retired mill worker for U.S.
Steel Corporation.
Mr. Mitchell served with the
U.S. Air Force during World
War II.
Survivors include his
widow; Mary Benlock Mitchell; at home; one son. Jeffrey; at home; a daughter;
Mrs. Floyd (Patricia) Corsi;
of Monongahela ; three
brothers; Thomas Mitchell of Cleveland;Ohio;and George and Charles Mitchell;both of Belle Vernon;a sister;Mrs.Frank (Betty) Olszewski;of Belle Vernon;and three grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City;from 4 to 9 p.m.;Saturday and from 2 to 4 p.m.and 7 to 9 p.m.Sunday. A Parish Prayer Service will be held in the funeral home at 8 p.m.Sunday. A Prayer Service will be held at 10 a.m.Monday in the funeral home;followed by a 10:30 a.m.Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Spirit R.C.Church;Fayette City;with the Rev.Thomas G.Rinn;pastor;as celebrant. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born Jan. 31; 1896 in Italy;
she was the daughter of the
late Amadeo and Luisa Nardinocchi
Polidori. She was a
Belle Vernon resident since
1946.
Mrs. Mazzei was a member
of St. Sebastian’s Church;
Belle Vernon; and she was a
Gold Star Mother.
She was preceded in death
by her husband; Joseph
Mazzei; in 1974; and two sons;
Louis in 1945 and Desio in 1952.
Survivors include a
daughter; Mrs. Norman
(Luisa) Magrini of Okmulgee;
Okla.; a brother; August
Polidori of Daisy town; five
grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A Blessing Service will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a 10 a.m.Mass of Christian Burial at St.Sebastian’s Catholic Church;Belle Vernon. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr.Maxwell;76;of 1200 Hillcrest Ave.;died Tuesday;May 27;1980;in Mercy Hospital. He was born on January 29;1904;a son of the late Ralph Andrew Maxwell;and Bessie Maxwell who survives. He was a Democratic State Representative from 1941 to 1944 and from 1951 to 1964. He served as Chairman of the House Health and Welfare Committee and on the State Professional Licensing Board. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh Dental School;he had a private practice in Monessen for 40 years before retiring in 1964. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Dental Association;American Legion Post 28;Fraternal Order of Eagles 2399 and BPOE 733. He served in the U.S.Air Force during World War II and was a retired captain of the 8th Air Force and was past post commander of VFW Post 1190. He is survived by his wife;Maimie Neill Maxwell;his mother;Bessie Maxwell;a son;Hubert Jr.of Belle Vernon;a daughter;Maxine Davis of Deer Park;Wash. and two grandchildren. survive.
He had been employed as a
plumber’s assistant in
Monessen prior to becoming
disabled.
He was a member of St.
Leonard’s R.C. Church and
the Monessen Slovak Home.
