James (Jimmie) Nichols;Grindstone;died Saturday;Oct.27;1984;at 5 a.m. in the Brownsville General Hospital. He was 84. Mr.Nichols was born in Pricedale (Redtown) on Nov.3;1899; a son of the late Joseph and Sarah Bowater Nichols. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America and was a retired coal miner for the H.C.Frick Coal Co. He was a member of the Fayette County Baseball Hall of Fame. In adition to his parents;he was preceded in death by his wife;Anna Giassgow Nichols;who died March 28;1970. Survivors include a son;Robert (Bob) Nichols of Hopwood. Edward Wetzel Noel of 211 Henry St.Belle Vernon;died Friday;Dec.16;1983;at 5:45 p.m.in Mon Valley Hospital;Carroll Twp. He was 64. Mr.Noel was born May 25;1919;in Belle Vernon;a son of the late Edward and Eva McKinley Noel. A lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area;he was employed;at the time of his death;as a high school custodian in the Belle Vernon Area School District;a position he had held for the past 15 years. He was a former employee of the Donora Southern Railroad. Mr. Norris was a member
and parliamentarian of the
Rostraver Emergency
Medical Service (REMS).
A former resident of
Washington. Pa.; he had lived
in Lynnwood since 1953.
Mr. Norris was a veteran of
World War II; having served
as a sergeant with the Air Corps. He was a former manager of the S.A. Meter Jewelry Store in Charleroi. In addition to his parents;Mr.Norris was preceded in death by his wife;Helen Higgins Norris;July 1;1979.
