Mr.Nicccolai was a resident of the Belle Vernon area for most of his life before moving to Landsdale 24 years ago. He was a retired member of the United Mine Workers of America;having worked at the Gibson Mine. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by his wife;Nellie Levi Niccolai in 1922 and five brothers;Primo Niccolai who died in 1969 and Gino Niccolai;who died in 1979;Domineco (Mingo) in 1967;Nello in 1956 and Salvator in the 1920s. James (Jimmie) Nichols;Grindstone;died Saturday;Oct.27;1984;at 5 a.m. in the Brownsville General Hospital. He was 84. Mr.Nichols was born in Pricedale (Redtown) on Nov.3;1899; a son of the late Joseph and Sarah Bowater Nichols. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America and was a retired coal miner for the H.C.Frick Coal Co. He was a member of the Fayette County Baseball Hall of Fame. In adition to his parents;he was preceded in death by his wife;Anna Giassgow Nichols;who died March 28;1970. Survivors include a son;Robert (Bob) Nichols of Hopwood.
