She was born in Belle Vernon on April 22;1934;the daughter of the late Harry and Elizbeth Jane Turnbull Sethman. Mrs.Seibert was a lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area. She was a member of the Lynnwood Lutheran Church. Survivors include her husband;Thomas E.Seibert;three daughters;Mrs.Alex (Sheila) Carocci and Pamela Manack;both of Perryopolis;and Frances Seibert at home;three brothers;Richard Sethman;Carmichael;Harry Sethman Jr.;Belle Vernon;and Howard Sethman;Southgate;Calif.;six sisters;Mrs.Margaret Carr;Mrs.Ethel Venneri;Mrs.Hannah Bennett;and Mrs.Florence Weaver;all of Belle Vernon;Mrs.Dorothy Rainey;Denbo;and Mrs.Martha Warner;Springfield;Ohio;and two granddaughters. Friends may call at the Shelby D.ferguson Funeral Home;Belle Vernon;from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday;and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Vernon died Saturday;March 17;1979; in
Holyoke; Mass. She was 72.
Born in Belle Vernon on July
24; 1907; she was the daughter
of the late Robert D. and
Corabelle Reeves Springer.
A member of one of Belle
Vernon’s oldest families;Miss
Springer was a graduate of
California State College and
taught in the Belle Vernon
School District for 44 vears
until her retirement in 1970.
In addition to her parents;
she was preceded in death by
a brother; Joseph Springer;
and a sister; Helen S. Russell;
who died Jan. 18;1979.
She is survived by two
sisters; Mrs. William S.
(Clara) Jones of Belle Vernon
and Mrs William S. (Sara)
Jeffries of State College; and
several nieces and nephews.
A joint memorial service
will be held for Miss Springer
and Mrs. Russell in Belle
Vernon on a date to be announced.

David Lewis Smith; 28; of
Grindstone; a former resident of
Belle Vernon; died Friday; May
4; 1979 at 11:50 a. m. in
McKeesport Hospital.
He was born March 19;1951; in
New Castle; son of Joseph and
Mary Levine Smith; both of
whom survive.
He was a member of St.
Sebastian Church; Belle Vernon
and had lived in Belle Vernon
until three years ago. He was
also a member of the Belle
Vernon Moose Club.
He had been employed at the
Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.

Belle Vernon; at 9:30; followed
by a Mass of Christian Burial at
St. Sebastian Church at 10
o’clock. Burial was in Belle Vernon Cemetery.

J.Elmer Shlanta of 100 Pride Drive;Belle Vernon;died Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in Jefferson Medical Center. He was 73. Mr.Shlanta was born Sept.28;1905;in Wickhaven;Pa;a son of the late Michael and Theodora Moneta Shlanta. He was retired from the U.S.Post Office in Belle Vernon and had been supervisor of the Rostraver Post Office. Mr.Shlanta was a member of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church;Lynnwood. Thomas Peter Smereczniak;a former Belle Vernon resident;1967 Colleen Dr.;North Huntingdon;died suddenly Tuesday Feb.27;1979 at 11:22 p.m. at Monsour Medical Center;Jeannette;the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident earlier that day on Route 30 in N.Huntingdon Twp. He was 31. Born Oct.26;1947 in North Charleroi;he was the son of Afton and Betty Miske Smereczniak of Lynnwood;who survive. Mr.Semerczniak had resided in Belle Vernon until three years ago when he moved to North Huntingdon. Mr.Smereczniak was employed in the Quality Control department of the H.J.Heinz Co.;Pittsburgh. A graduate of California State College;he had received his degree in chemistry in 1970. He was a member of the American Chemical Society. Also he was a member of St.Agnes Catholic Church;North Huntingdon. In addition o his parents;Mr.Smereczniak is survived by his widow;Betsy Nye Smereczniak;a daughter;Kristina Lee;21 months old;at home;one sister;Mrs.Thomas (Marybeth) DeMillion of Pittsburgh;and three brothers;Lt.Commander David Afton Smereczniak of the U.S.Navy;stationed in Sigonella;Italy;Richard N.Smereczniak of Aurora;Ohio;and Mark Anthony Smereczniak;at home. He was preceded in death by a sister;Janice Marie;in Nov.1969.
