Mr. Steinman was born in
Pittsburgh on March 29; 1896;a son of the late Edward
Daleton and Clara Ewing
Steinman.
He was a member of the
Church of the Covenant;
Washington; and attended
Mt. Pleasant and Fayette City
schools.
He was a resident of
Washington since 1927; where
he was employed by the
Observer Publishing Co. until
retirement in 1966.He was a member of the
Sunset Lodge No. 633 F&AM;
Washington Council No I;
Royal Arch Chapter No. 130;
Tall Cedars No. I49 and RPO
Elks No. 776.
In addition to his parents;
he was preceded in death by
his wife; Mae E. Steinman in April;1973. He is survived by a daughter;Mr.Thomas V.(Lauretta) Wainwright of Bethlehem;Pa.;two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Friends will be received In

George J.Skurkay of 101 Broadway Dr.;Pleasant Hills;died Sunday;Feb.20;1983;at 9:10 p.m.in his home. He was 80. Mr.Skurkay was born April 9;1902;in Monessen;a son of the late George and Anna Wishnanski Skurkay. He retired in 1965 as superintendent of the Pittsburgh Steel Foundry and Machine Co.;Glassport. Mr.Skurkay had lived in the Pleasant Hills area the past 31 years. He was preceded in death by his wife;Nelle Shimchick Skurkay;on Jan.2;1982;and by three brothers;Peter;Michael and Edward Skurkay. Mr.Skurkay was a member of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church;Belle Vernon. Surviving are one brother;John Skurkay;of Belle Vernon;three sisters;Mrs.Mary Gezzer of Baldwin;Mrs.Richard (Margaret) Fross of Cleveland;Ohio;and Mrs.John (Irene) Talpas of Greensburg;nieces and nephews. Earl M.Shrader of Perryopolois R.D.2 died Thursday Jan.27;1983;at 11:13 a.m.in Mon Valley Hospital;Carroll Twp.;following a lengthy illness. He was 75. Mr.Shrader was born Aug.19;1907;in Eldersville;Pa.;a son of the late Robert W.and Maude McCleary Shrader. He was a retired employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation’s Monessen Plant. A Protestant by faith;Mr.Shrader was a World War II veteran of the U.S.Army. He was preceded in death by a son;Andrew Shrader;in August of 1966 and by a brother;James Shrader. Born in Brazil on May 25;1900;she was the daughter of the late John and Marie Webber Nemec. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;Martin Sivic in 1973. Mrs.Sivic was a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church of Belle Vernon and the SNPJ Lodge No.69 of Minnesota. Surviving are one son;Martin and a daughter;Mrs.Frank (Louise) Brudzenski;both of Belle Vernon R.D.5;a sister;Mrs.Jennie Nunclja of Cleveland;Ohio;and two grandchildren. Cornelius Stephenson;13 Anderson Court;Monessen;died Friday;Jan. 7;1983;at 8:30 a.m.in Mon Valley Hospital. He was 80. Mr.Stephenson was born in Lonaconing;Md.Jan.8;1902. He was a Monessen resident most of his life. He was employed by Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel;Monessen plant;as an electricial general foreman prior to his retirement in 1965. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church;Monessen. He was also a member of the F&AM;638;Monessen;where he was a past Master. He served as an officer in Royal Arch Chapter No.290;McKean Commandry No.80;Charleroi. He was also a member of the Valley Consistory and Syria Temple Shrine;both of Pittsburgh. He was preceded in death by two grandsons;Kenneth and Terry Stephenson. Survivors include his wife;Mary Fleming Stephenson;two sons;Charles J.(Chuzzy);Long Beach;Calif.;and Earl C.(Buzzy);Monessen;a daughter;Mrs.Joseph (Betty) Slavino;11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren;and a sister;Mrs.Evelyn Delbarre;Pittsburgh.
