George J.Thieser of Belle Vernon R.D.5;died Monday;Feb.23;1981 at 7:02 p.m.in the Mercy Hospital;Pittsburgh. He was 68. Born Jan.22;1913 in Belle Vernon;he was the son of the late Nicholas and Rose Limbach Thieser. He was a lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area community. Mr.Thieser retired in Jan.1975 from the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel;Monessen plant;where he had been employed in the open hearth. He was a World War II veteran;having served with the U.S.Army 99th Infantry Division. He had fought in the Battle of the Buldge. Mr.Thieser was a member of the Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659. Survivors include his widow;Helen Venneri Thieser;a daughter;Mrs.Leonard (Charlene) Povrzenich of Belle Vernon R.D.5;two sisters;Mrs.Elizabeth Bell and Mrs.Rose Gaul;both of Belle Vernon;two granddaughters;Jill and Stacey Povrzenich;both of Belle Vernon R.D.5;and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
